I looked around the camp, my eyes searching for a particular person.
"So (y/n), got the hots for Shane?" My best friend Lori asked.
My head whipped around.
"What?! No! I-"
"You what?" She smirked.
That girl knows me better than I know myself, I have to keep reminding myself that.
"Lover boy isn't here."
"Where is he?" I asked.
"(Y/n) if you don't like him, why all of a sudden do you need to know where he is?"
Crap, that caught me off guard.
"He went with Rick to go and plan our next move."
I nodded softly, we had just finished burying our lost ones, burning the numerous walkers that had infiltrated our camp last night.
I saw Rick and Shane emerge from the RV.
Shane looking mighty pissed off, storming down to the quarry.
"I-I'll be back."
I ran in the direction Shane went.
"Shane! Shane wait up!" I called out, hitting something hard, falling to the ground, to see Shane standing above me trying not to smile.
I stood up, straightening and dusting off my jeans and tank top.
" you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah... you, are YOU okay?"
"I'm peachy."
"What happened in there?" I asked
"We're going to the CDC."
"What? But I thought-"
"I was overruled."
"By who? Rick?"
"And Lori."
"What?"
"She said that she will go with Rick wherever he will go."
"Shane.. I'll follow you wherever you go, whether it's hell or the CDC."
He smiled warmly.
That's when it happened.
He went for a hug, I went for a kiss.
But he didn't stop me.
Our lips connected and it may sound cliché, Okay, it's completely cliché, but fireworks, explosions and confetti went off.
We recollected our breaths after almost a minute, our forehead against one another's staring into each others eyes, both of us wearing a goofy grin.
"I can't believe i just kissed you." he said.
"What? Why?" I blushed.
"Because I like you, I really like you.."
"I agree Shane I love you."
He smiled at me once more, going for another kiss.
I love this, the fact that my best friend has her happy ending, and I have mine.
