I may have spoken too soon.
Taehyung rolled his eyes at Namjoon's comment, while I am trying to create a clever way to respond. The others just stayed quiet, suddenly the food seemed more interesting.
I was so confused as to why he had to say that and ruin the mood but then it hit me. Everyone in this room other than Tae is my enemy. We may be friends here but on the ice we are strangers competing for gold. As much as I dislike it, I won't back down.
"Well I do have the best coach there is, so without a doubt I will be first". I say with the confidence I didn't know I had. But I mean when talking about my handsome and caring boyfriend of course I shouldn't hesitate.
I looked around and I can see Jimin and Yoongi smirking. Good I thought. I want them to see me as a worthy opponent.
Namjoon raised his eyebrows. I guess he didn't expect my answer, but what can I say, it's the truth. I may not fully be confident with my chances of winning, however knowing that Taehyung believes in me is all I need to a least be top 5.
I could sense Taehyung's stare towards me so I turn my attention towards him. And I was right. He had a smug look on his face and I wish I could kiss him, but I can't, well not now a least.
Before Namjoon can respond a waiter came in and gave me and Tae our food.
Satisfied with my answer the four of ud telepathically agreed to enjoy our night as in a few weeks it will be the start of Nationals.
