Chapter 3

About a year has passed from the day Yuta left. Gojo came in a few moments later explaining why Yuta had left, they weren't allowed to know where he went or any other details, Maki being angry that he left, Panda being too shocked for any words to come out, had quietly begun to accept their reality. After a few weeks they began to write letters for Gojo to deliver to him (It was Inumaki's idea, they also learned not to send any sweet stuff, it never actually got to him) Inumaki always made sure to send at least one every few weeks. They were no longer first years, but now seconds years, and had recently met Nobara Kugasaki, having heard the news of what happened to Itadori Yuji reminded Inumaki much of Yuta's situation of having to deal with a curse.

As Fushiguro sat on the floor after being attacked by Todou, having him mention Yuta reminded him of the scarf he still held onto of course he didn't wear it after it had gotten warmer though. They met up with Maki and Nobara after Todou left for Takada-chan, Inumaki almost immediately noticed that something had changed between their relationship. Almost as if Nobara looked up to her, though it wasn't his place to say anything. They called off the training due to Fushiguro's injuries, but Nobara didn't get off as lucky though, he did have to admit that it was amusing watching her get thrown around like a ragdoll. The training didn't last that much longer after due to Nobara's complaining over how her new tracksuit got ruined because of Mai.

Having some extra time left of the day the five of them just talked, but even though Inumaki was part of the conversation sometimes he felt that he wasn't actually part of the group. It wasn't exactly the easiest not being able to express himself verbally as that was just the basics of even starting a friendship, he had learned that from a young age, he quietly let himself leave the conversation; it wasn't like they were going to notice he was gone. Climbing back up the side of the building, he seemed to be spending more time there recently, he sat himself right at the edge letting his legs dangle over the edge. He let his thoughts drift back to the group, how Maki and Nobara seemed to be growing as friends and how even Fushiguro seemed to enjoy Nobara's company, not like he'll ever show it. He drifted off to how Panda and how they always seemed to mess around and Panda always got onto Maki's nerves yet still had such a strong bond, sure Panda understood him to some extent, but the closest person he was able to have a decently normal conversation with was Yuta. After their mission in the abandoned shopping district Yuta had always made sure to notice the smallest changes in his expressions, and how his tone changed in his voice, but that itself made it easier talking to Inumaki. In Yuta's eyes, Inumaki was a very talkative person, not verbally but instead through the way he expressed his limited speech of onigiri ingredients.

Weeks passed and soon enough it was time for the Kyoto Event, Gojo showed up late as usual but this time with a box, as the box popped open we saw the one and only Itadori Yuji, and soon enough the Kyoto Event had begun. Inumaki had been the first one to encounter Hanami, and so began the fight against the special grade curse spirit.
