About a day had passed before Inumaki finally woke up, blinking away the sleepiness from his eyes, he sat up slowly before realizing Itadori was asleep at the end of the bed. Feeling a bit guilty for making his friend worry he let him sleep a while longer, feeling his throat dry and rough, he reached for the glass of water that was on the table next to him, courtesy of Shoko, gulping it down slowly he cringed at the taste of iron going down his throat, he remembered, just the day before he had confessed to Yuta. He felt as his stomach turned at how badly he had messed up.
Just as the thoughts settled in, Itadori woke up watching as Inumaki's face drained of color, not fully awake before realizing what was happening, quickly handing him a pen and paper so he could write with. Did I really confess?, Itadori nodded, "Yeah just before you passed out, why do you ask?" Well what happened after that? "We finished off the curses before rushing you to Shoko, Yuta almost didn't want to let her check up on you." Itadori laughed at the memory of seeing his upperclassmen hesitate despite knowing she would help.
All while Inumaki's head was in a scramble, they then all of a sudden they heard a knock on the door. Itadori stood up, opening the door only to see Yuta standing there, he hadn't come back after he left to find Megumi, but that also gave him time to think. Itadori excuses himself from the room not wanting to get in the way. "How's your throat?" Yuta asks not very sure where to start off. It's kinda sore. Inumaki signed a bit flustered about the night before. About the night before, I'm sorry about that, I know you're still with Maki and I shouldn't have done that, I didn't even think about how you would feel - "Wait wait, can I go first?" Yuta interrupted by placing his hands on Inumaki's. Lowering his hands reluctantly he nodded, "You see Maki and I broke up not too long ago, but not only that but you shouldn't apologize about your own feelings." Yuta smiled. "I actually came to ask if you could give me some time to think over my answer," He asked sheepishly. Inumaki a bit stunned about the pair breaking up, he nodded not quite sure what to answer. "Thank you! I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible." With that Yuta left with a short conversation, leaving him to deal with his own thoughts, as he was already expecting for the worst.
Deciding he no longer wanted to be in the room alone he waited a few minutes before leaving to the roof. Stopping by his room to grab the scarf he cherished and a water bottle. After all, it was already getting dark, so it would be a nice place to clear his thoughts. As he made his way to the top, he couldn't help but think how badly he had messed up.
As he sat on the edge of the building he let his legs dangle off the side. He slowly sipped on the water, as he let his thoughts settle in. He hated himself for how selfish he was, Yuta was probably hurt about their break up and he had to go and open his mouth. Yet as much as he hated himself, he felt relieved to know that no longer had to deal with it, if he got rejected that's the end of that. It would mean that he would finally get the answer to his feelings that he had all this time. All he had to do now was wait, and he didn't regret a thing despite how such simple "words" could change so much between the two.
