A couple of hours had passed, and Hannah had a headache from screaming lyrics to mother mother all night. Jax looked at his phone, 22:36 the time read. It was pitch black. All you could see was the glow of passing cars. Hannah reached into her bag and grabbed the pre-rolled cigarette. "Got a lighter J?" She asked Jax, in a hurry. Jax scurried round his bag, finding a lighter in the very bottom. He handed it to Hannah, who rolled down the car window and lit her cigarette. Everything was quiet for a couple of minutes. The music had stopped, all you could hear was the breathing of three teenagers, filled with adrenaline, going 90 miles an hour. Breaking the silence, the loud ring of alexia's phone made everyone jump. The car rocked with them. Alexia pointed to her phone, signaling Jax to answer it. "Shit AJ, it's your mum." He whispered, answering it and putting it on speakerphone. "Hi mum what's going on?" Alexia asked her. "Where the fuck are you? I've just got home and you're not here. The cars gone too. What the fuck are you up to now?!" Her mother screamed down the phone. Alexia couldn't be bothered to deal with her shit, so she hung up. She just sat there, in silence, driving down the motorway. She turned the music back on, and suddenly the car was filled with volume again. Hannah gasped, and quickly shut the window, chucking her cigarette out. "Shit it's the cops. We are doing the speed limit though?" She said, worried. Alexia looked in the mirrors, she let out a big sigh. She pulled over and turned off the music. "Please exit the vehicle immediately" was heard from a megaphone. They all exited the car one by one. The police officer approached them "are you aware this car has been reported as a stolen vehicle ma'am?" The officer asked Alexia. She looked over at Jax and Hannah. "No, sir. I did not. This is my mother's car." She let out a big sigh, knowing her mother purposely reported it stolen. "We are going to have to take you all to the station." The officer said. They each followed the officer into the police car. It was about an hour of silence in the back of a cop car. The only noise was the blabber of the engine. When they arrived at the police station, their parents were all stood waiting for them, with looks of disappointment on their faces. Each child scuffed their feet as they slowly walked towards their parents. They looked at each other with faces of despair. Their parents, filled with rage, dragged them each to their cars and drove them home. Alexia got an earful in the car "I've never taught you to steal, least of all steal my car. I thought I could trust you being left alone." Her mum said with an annoyed tone. Her dad just sat there, with a stern look on his face. Hannah's mother was silent the whole way back. The only words that came from her parted lips were "You're grounded. You will come straight home from school every day." Jax's journey home was a different story. His dad sped home, breaking the speed limit, a look of anger spread across his face. "Your mother is waiting for you at home." He sighed. A look of worry and regret instantly spread across Jax's face. As they were all in their own cars, on their way home, they were messaging the group chat. "wanna try to sneak out at 3 am?" Hannahs text read out. Alexia responded with "yeah, I'm up for it. ill meet u at the playing field at 3. Jax u up for it?" typing quickly before her mother saw her on her phone. There wasn't a response from Jax, so Hannah and Alexia thought he had his phone confiscated. Jax returned home, hesitant to walk through the door. suddenly, sweat was pooling on his forehead, with him knowing what was next. the door shut. You couldn't see anything, but by the groans and screams, and the occasional sound of thumps, anyone could guess what happened behind those doors. Alexia arrived home and went straight to her room. her parents locked her bedroom door, as punishment. Alexia just hoped her parents weren't leaving early tomorrow. Hannah returned home, there was no conversation. her mum just sat in her chair, turned on the TV, and grabbed a pint of ice cream. Hannah found her own way to her bedroom, scampering around her room trying to find some sort of spray to mask the scent of cigarette smoke.
As Jax slumped his sore, bruised body into his room, and flopped onto his bed, he checked his phone, noticing the arrangements made for the night to come. He didn't have the strength to respond, instead, he passed out for what felt like hours, but has to have been only 5 minutes maximum. Hannah and Alexia were prepared to meet up, they needed a smoke, and they needed a break. Alexia kept checking her phone for a message from Jax, but there was none. 3 Am arrived, and Hannah was already at the playing field, waiting for Alexia to arrive. When she arrived, she wasn't greeted, but was asked "you got the cigarettes with u?" by Hannah. "don't worry, yes I have. wheres Jax?" Alexia asked. Hannah just shook her head, as if to say she hadn't seen him since the incident. Back at Jax's house, he had awoken. He checked his phone again, seeing the messages. he got changed, trying to hide his bruises as much as possible. It was easy to hide the bruises and cuts, not so much the limp that he had adopted though. He messaged the group chat saying "I'm on my way, just gotta get something first." quickly so he could rush out of his bedroom window. He went to meet his cousin, who just so happened to have some LSD with him. Jax was given the LSD, and he made his way to the playing field. He arrived about a half-hour after he messaged them. he had a sort of concerned, and anxious look on his face. limping towards the girls, they rushed towards him. "what the fuck happened to you?" they both asked, angrily. they asked that question, although you could tell they already knew who did this to him. "you already know who. doesn't matter though. Look what I have". He reached into his bag, taking out the sheet of paper. "the fuck is that Jax??" Hannah asked, worried. "you already know." he said, smirking. He ripped a piece off and held it out to Alexia. she was hesitant, and Hannah shook her head, but she reached out and grabbed the paper. She placed the paper on her tongue, and pulled a face, preparing for some sort of taste. it was tasteless, her face instantly relaxed . "oh, it's not even bad." she said. Clearly, she had spoken too soon. she couldn't feel any change and was annoyed with Jax for getting her hopes up. she had never taken LSD before and didn't know what to expect. They sat down for about 15 minutes, and just scrolled through Instagram, not knowing what to do. none of them wished to return home, so they stayed out. After about 15 minutes, Hannah decided to stop being nervous, and just take some. She ripped off a piece and swallowed it. It wasn't that bad, and she didn't feel any different. Alexia and Jax cheered her on as a joke. Roughly 5 minutes after Hannah took some, Alexia looked up from her phone. Her face dropped, sweat droplets were forming on her forehead. Jax was still sober, and he was about to take some, but he glanced over at Alexia. she stood up, and walked towards the darkness. she stopped in her tracks, looked at her hand, where she saw a knife. she smiled, spookily at the "knife" in her hand. Jax and Hannah were watching her, not knowing what was happening. "AJ! you okay??" Jax shouted out, there was no response. Alexia looked back and saw Tiana standing behind Hannah. She ran towards Hannah, which freaked her out. Her hand up to her face, the knife pointing out, she stopped when she ran just past Hannah. she dropped the knife, looked at her hands which were suddenly covered in blood. "I killed her. I killed Tiana." Alexia said, spaced out. Hannah and Jax looked at each other with concern. Alexia collapsed on her knees to the floor, still smirking. After a few minutes, she passed out. Hannah and Jax decided to let her sleep and get over what had just happened. Jax took a piece of the paper, and waited. Hannah and Jax had the best trip ever, laughing, falling to the floor, seeing colours everywhere. After about an hour, Alexia woke up, Hannah and Jax still in their trip. They all began to laugh and joke, and they had a great night, forgetting what had just happened. The group stayed out for the rest of the night, enjoying their trip.
