'Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved but hope for the patience to win my freedom.'Slowly, Mannat stood up from her prayer mat, folding it as neatly as she could. Her long eyelashes still wet with her tears that she shead a few minutes back while praying to Allah to give her heart some rest.
Glancing towards the window her eyes fall on the night sky, deprived of stars.
"O Allah, there is no one who can understands the sad words of a sad heart, except you."
She whispered to the wind, her heart feeling tighter due to unnecessary pain she was carrying in. Standing there she wonder if God is even listening to her. From years she was praying for peace yet she couldn't find it. Is Allah angry with her or he don't like the way she make dua's.
Her little piece of silence was destroyed the moment the door opened with a loud sound. Flinching at her place abnormally Mannat felt her heart in the feet. Before she could react to it, she found herself being trapped between the wall and a pair of strong arms.
"Tell me what were you doing there?"
He roared out as his grip on her arms get tighter. A flood of tears once again started to brim out of her eyes making her feel vulnerable. Glancing in those dark eyes, she saw hatred and disgust. A few strand of his long hair falling in front of this handsome man. His tough face making her soul shiver.
"M-urat please stop. You are hurting me."
Her shaky voice dared to come out in front of the monster that seized her peace for the rest of her life. A soft sob escaped her mouth. Her knees started to wobble as his warm breath fall on her face. The veil that was once on her head was now making its way to the ground.
"Have you forgotten that you are the wife of Murat Khan or you still living in the memories of that filthy dog who dug his grave himself."
Murat spat out those words through his gritted theeth. She could feel her blood rushing fast in her cold body. Her inside turning and twisting. No amount of shame can be seen in the man eyes as he stood there with a pride.
Those salty tears making its way to her mouth as those words kept ringing in her. Despite that burning pain in her wrist she managed to free her hand from his grip. And the next moment she found her hand connecting against his face. An unpleasant sound echoing in the eerie silence of the room.
Every part of her body ached in pain and the next moment she realized what a big mistake she did.
