Forbidden us

Chapter 4

Lila POV: When Jake said those words...I was shocked. I couldn't believe that Christine was the one who messaged Jake first. But then I looked at Giovany...His eyes were getting watery you could tell he was about to cry. It was shocking seeing him cry for the first time since he always acted tuff like no one could hurt his feelings. But this was different. Giovany then let go of Jake and walked away silently. Christine was sitting on the floor crying, Jake was sitting on the other side of the hallway on the floor with blood dripping from his mouth and nose. And I didn't know what to do...should I stay with Christine and comfort her or should I try to go and find Giovany?

My mind went blank until I found myself looking for Giovany. I wanted to help him and after all, he deserved it. After looking over half of the school (including the boy's bathroom) I went to the place where most likely would have been. The gym, and our coaches have no classes in 5th period so he went there to just get away I guess.

I finally found him sitting on the bleachers crying, but when he noticed me he tried to cover up the fact that he was crying but I had already seen. I sat right beside him not knowing how to comfort him...I then started to slowly rub him on the back hoping it would at least make him feel a little better. But I could tell it didn't help. I had never seen him like this he looked so sad. So I did what any good friend would do I hugged him. Not sure of what was going to happen next.

He hugged me back. Which I was quite happy about, about 8 seconds later the hug ended. I looked up at him to find him staring directly at me. We stared into each other's eyes for a moment until...he was right in front of my face. Then out of nowhere, he just kissed me...The kiss was not long but it wasn't short either. It lasted for about 5 seconds until he pulled away from. If I'm being honest I enjoyed it more than I have ever enjoyed anything.

I slowly looked up at him. He had a kind of shocked expression on his face. I felt my cheeks go red. We just stood there for a while standing in silence. The awkward silence filled our ears until he finally said "I'm sorry but I need to go" and he rushed off without another word. After that, I didn't even bother trying to find Christine I just felt so horrible and confused so I ended up just going home, not sure if I could ever face him or Christine again.

I didn't know what to expect the next day.
