"Honey can you pass me the salt." My mom asked while stirring the soup in front of her. Leaning in the kitchen island I reach to her the salt. She take it from my hands with a smile.
Five years have already passed since the day that they accepted me to their family. I really love my parents. Mr. And Mrs. Davidson. And now, I'm Margarett Gail Davidson. That's what my adopted papers say so. I smiled to that.
"Why are you smiling?" My mom asked me. Crap! Mom caught me again.
"Nothing." I quickly answered.
"If its about a boy-"
"Ew! Mom, stop! Just stop." I said while scrunching my nose in disgust. My mom chuckled.
"You know. I'm only teasing you. How come you never told me anything about boys." She said while stirring then tasting the soup.
"Why are you cooking? We have a cook you know." I said while ginning.
"I love cooking- Wait! Stop changing the subject." She glared at me jokingly. I suppress the urge to smile.
"I didn't change the subject. I'm just asking and I think the conversation on the first subject is over several minutes ago." I winked at her. She laughed then shake her head.
"You know, you can talk to me all about that right?"
"Right." I said sarcastically.
She glared at me. I held my hands up in surrender. Then shrugged. "You know, i really dont have crushes. I don't know why but i think I'm abnormal." I said in a straight face.
My mom snickered. "Abnormal my ass!" She said then covered her mouth immediately and her eyes went wide. I looked at her dumb folded. Then we started to laugh.
"You know your the best mom right?" I said after our laughing session. I smiled brightly at me. "Don't tell your dad though. He thinks that your creative attitude is influence by my antics." She said while shaking her head. I chuckled. "But, you rock mom." I grinned at her. "Okay, okay go seat at the dining table. This is finally cooked." I went down from the kitchen island then walked toward the dining room. The Davidson house is a mansion. With three storey Victorian mansion with wide lawn, well trimmed garden, a huge fountain in the front and awesome modern interior.
I finally reach the dining room. A huge table is situated in the middle with twelve seat. I saw my dad seated at the head of the table. I sit down at his right.
"You know what will happen when mom catches you with this" I pick up a white paper with printed words in it "papers in the dining room. She will going to burn them again."
His face turn into a grim expression."Don't remind me again." He said while keep reading the papers in hia hands.
"Mom is coming." I whisper yell at him.
His head glance up quickly scanning the room. Then narrow his eyes at me then grumble, "You are the splitting image of your mother." He is starting to file the papers neatly then place it at the side table beside the wall. I smiled at what he said. He plopped down in his seat grumpy. Mom appeared a minute later with soup in her hands followed by James, the Davidson's loyal butler.
"I can manage James. No need to trouble yourself." My mom said.
"But ma'am. It is my job." The butler insisted.
"No need James." My stubborn mom reassured him. She turned to us then furrowed her eyebrow at her husband. "Something the matter dear?"
"No." My dad mumbled. My mom looked at me. I just shrugged. She smiled then pour our bowl with her delicious soup.
"So, Margarett. Its your first day in your senior year." My dad remind me. A mischievous glint in his eyes. I groaned.
My mom clap her hands excitedly. "Oh, before I forgot. We have a surprise for you!" She glance at her back to James. "James, could you get the box?" James nod.
After a few minutes James finally returned. I couldn't contain my eagerness to know that it is. I think my moms excited attitude finally rob on me. She held her hand with a small box in it. She lift it up a little bit for me to take. I get the box hesitantly. Mom put her hand in my dads arm. I opened the box then saw a car key inside. My eyes went wide then I sprang immediately from my seat then bolted to the garage. My mouth hang open and my eyes went even wider. I turned to see my parents standing at the garage door hugging each other. I squealed in excitement then ran and enveloped them in a tight hug. "You know. Your the best parents ever right? And that I love you so, so, so much. Thank you! Thank you!" I beamed at them with happiness. They laugh at me excitement. I turned around and run my fingers in the side of my brand new red Ferrari. Sweet! I grinned to myself.
