He perched by himself near her, the beautiful girl that was on his bus who could sing so sweetly. Usually he would have approached her but there was something about her. He was scared of being rejected and those pretty eyes showing disappointment at him. No, he couldn't face that, he simply couldn't. Just then his pretty girlfriend, Beatrice, approached him and waved. Peter liked Bea, he really did but he thought that she needed to respect herself more. She wasn't a Barbie toy, she was a human being with an opinion, a thought and a family, it wasn't worth throwing that away and becoming a doll, incapable of your own human opinion.
Peter waved back and Bea wandered over to him. She sat down on his knee and ran her manicured fingers through his hair, biting his lip and causing Peter to wince in pain. Peter pulled Bea back and looked into her green eyes. He smiled and said.
"I need to get a book", leaving Bea stunned.
Tar saw the brunette from music attack Peter's face and an emotion swept through her, one that she hadn't felt before. Jealousy? No, what was it? She felt a breeze behind her and turned her head, her blonde hair sweeping with the movement. There was nothing so she returned to reading when a voice uttered,
"You're good at singing"
Tar looked up and it was Peter, he was wearing a leather jacket and had a brown satchel draped around his waist, he held 'The Hobbit' in his hand. "This one's good" Peter said as he handed Tar The Hobbit and she smiled.
"Hello Peter" Tar said as she took the book from Peter.
"Sorry about that" Peter said
"What?" Tar questioned and then realised he was talking about the public display of affection. "No, it was rather beautiful" Tar said sarcastically and Peter smiled, a dimple showing on each cheek.
"You're different" Peter said as he swept Tar's straying hair out of her eyes, "you don't act like the other girls, it's like you aren't trying to impress anyone, and without trying you already impressed the whole of our Music class" .Tar blushed
"That was terrible, I didn't know what to do and I panicked, my dad taught me that when I was small"
"It's easy to teach, but to have a voice like that you need talent and you have that" Peter said and then turned away, rethinking something through and then shifted his feet nervously across the floor.
"I should go" he said before quickly heading off towards his friends who were waiting by the door.
"Goodbye" Tar said out of Peters reach but somehow he heard and span around, winking before exiting the Library. Tar was alone.
