Ch2 - First day

Amilia's team was looking through what else she found in the temple ruins. They were hoping that not only could it tell about the Olmec cult but also about Nate's abilities and personal history.

Amilia was in a tent speaking with her Linguist expert Arturo who was translating the ancient writing from the temple.

Amilia: You got anything yet?

Arturo: As far as I can tell this cult hated the world and wanted to use the boy to restart it. That of course means destroying it and starting all over from scratch. Good thing they didn't succeed.

Amilia: But anything about Nate's powers and how to control them?

Arturo: Not much in that. They say after what they called "the ritual" was complete they placed those cuffs on his wrists to help suppress his powers till he was old enough to fully control them.

Amilia: So he can't take off the cuffs? But as he's growing up they will become tighter and...

Arturo: I might not know much about those runes they used but I could try to research them as best I can. Also that necklace you found...

Amilia pulled out a large golden necklace with an odd jewel.

Amilia: I found it on what I think was the body of the cult leader.

Arturo: Well some writing says it can help shield you from Nate's powers somewhat. You might need it if you're watching the boy.

Amilia: Nice! I wanted an excuse to keep this.

She then puts on the necklace.

Arturo: Remember that it's the only one. I don't think we can replicate that at all even at the lab.

Then their team historian Margaret came in.

Margaret: That's sad cause I have never seen anything like these artifacts. We could learn so much from them alone. Of course, it's amazing to find a person from that time but he doesn't seem to know much of his own people. Or he just can't remember. So where is the boy anyway?

Amilia: He's napping right now. I guess that power can wear him out sometimes.

Arturo: So how are you planning on raising him?

Amilia: Well I was making a plan when I was trying to have a child before. I mean even though we have a place at the lab I travel all the time so then I would have him with me and homeschool him. I wouldn't mind some help.

Arturo: Of course. I may help at teaching him our language. I mean have you tried teaching him?
