He compares you to his ex

Niall: Another night he wanted to go out was not usual. You had been seeing him less and less since the tour had dwindled down. He was always going out with the boys, whoever they were. He was still his caring self, making you feel loved, but you had wished he had been home more. He had been getting ready to go out when you decided to ask him not to come home drunk, again. You didn’t particularly like getting woke up at all hours of the morning with his loud laughter and the banging on different surfaces.  “Why are you getting mad about that?” he asked, putting his shoes on and looking at you as best as he could. “I’m not getting mad. I just want you tone down the drinks when you go out. You’ve been coming back incoherent lately,” you said, sitting on the bed. “I do not.” You rolled your eyes and didn’t say anything, not wanting to fight. “Mia never told me ‘tone down’ my drinking,” he grumbled, thinking you didn’t hear him. “Oh yeah? I’m sure Mia hasn’t been woken up late at night when you’ve just been drinking. You’re an idiot,” you said, catching him off guard. “You know I didn’t mean to bring her up,” he started. “Well you did. Have a good night out,” you said, laying down and getting under the covers. You hated when he brought her up, you knew that she was basically his first love. The girl who had broken him, the girl that he had lost and never got back. He thought highly of her and that sucked for you. You were always wondering if he was really over her, but when he brought her up, you couldn’t help but think that he wasn’t.

Zayn: He was always gone and you didn’t think it would have been as hard as it was. You were constantly wanting to be with him, to talk to him, everything. You weren’t clingy, but you did want time with him every once in a while and you weren’t getting that. When you had confronted him, you hadn’t expected the words to leave his mouth. “Perrie understood!” he yelled, catching himself as you took a step back from him. “Babe…” he started, making you put a hand up and stop him. “Why would you bring her up in a fight? She should be non-existent when it comes to things between you and i!” you yelled, walking away from him. “I didn’t mean to say that,” he said, following you. “It’s always nice to be compared to your boyfriend’s ex, not ex-girlfriend, but ex-fiancée. Thanks, Z.” You rolled your eyes and grabbed your car keys and purse, opening the door. “Where are you going?” he asked, getting a door slam as a response. The things you were feeling weren’t anything you wanted to be feeling. You didn’t like hoe he compared you and her, you two were totally different people. You hated that he thought of her and brought her into a conversation where she wasn’t needed. It made you wonder if he thought about her often.

Louis: He threw the keys on the side table as the two of you walked into the house, huffing as he did so. You felt like a child you was about to get scolded for her parent, you knew it was coming. This always happened when the two of you saw his family. They weren’t accustomed to you, they always made comments how he could do better as if you weren’t in the room. You knew that his ex had a good relationship with them and you understood that, but you hated how they treated you. “I can’t believe you would mouth off like that. Why aren’t you more like Eleanor? She would never talk to my mom like that,” he said, sitting on the couch and running his hands through his hair. You were glaring at him with a raised eyebrow as he spoke her name. “Your precious Eleanor was treated better by them. You don’t even stand up for me when they tell you that you could do better. What the hell Louis?! Am I just supposed to sit back and get bashed because they would rather have you with her?” He looked at you, mouth agape, and ready to say something before you spoke again. “I don’t want to talk to you right now. I’m going home,” you said, getting up and leaving quickly. A rush of cold air cascaded you as you walked out of his house, making it harder for you to breathe as you started to cry a bit. You never wanted to be compared to her by him like his family did.

Harry: Dinner had been going so good, date night had been a must since he had finally been back in town. You had missed him while he was off gallivanting around LA while you were working in London. A few weeks away from one another had caused a mild strain in a semi-new relationship the two of you had, but nothing too big. He had been super cuddly and affectionate. The two of you had just shared dessert before getting ready to go to the car. There had been minimum paps outside when you got there, but they had multiplied by the end of the night. You huffed, hating going out where the voices would be loud and flashes would be bright. He helped you into the car before getting in himself. “I hate that,” you mumbled, sitting back in your chair. “Stop complaining. Kendall never complained about paps,” he shot back, clearly annoyed. “Well Kendall is used to the spotlight. No need to compare the two of us.” “I was just stating a fact,” he grumbled, taking a turn towards his house. “If you’re going to be annoying and comparing me to your ex, you can take me home,” you whispered, clutching on to your seat belt. “I didn’t mean to make you ma-“ “Just take me home.”

Liam: An argument was something that you didn’t want to have, at least not over the phone. He had been on tour for well over a couple months and he was the one flying to you when he could. You were busy with school and work, trying to finish off your last university year with good grades. He understood that, but he hated that you weren’t able to visit him like he wanted you to. He wanted to share his lifestyle with you, the traveling and discovering different cultures of different places. “I can’t go this time, Li, you know that,” you said, balancing your phone between you shoulder and cheek while writing in your notebook. “Just this one time. You have a break anyway, babe. Please,” he begged, you could imagine the pout on his face and it made you smile. “Liam, I can’t. I have a huge paper due after my break and if I go, I won’t be able to write it. I’m sorry, babe.” He sighed and you could imagine the disappointment he was feeling. You felt bad, but school was your first priority at the moment. “You know, Sophia used to school and make time to go out and see me. Why can’t you?” Hearing her name always made you feel cringe-y. “If you want someone to visit you so bad, ask her. It’s so stupid that you would bring her up right now. Bye, Liam,” you said, hanging up and throwing your phone across the bed. You huffed a couple of times and went back to your work, taking your anger out on the homework you were doing.
