It was a warm spring day, a soft breeze tickled my arms. I played around with my younger sister, Mio, after helping our mother in the garden.

"Race ya to the fountain!" I yell to Mio I who is already gaining distance. Mio means, beautiful: which she lived up to with her black long hair and fair skin. She's one of the few Asians left. I on the other hand have shoulder length brown hair and green eyes. Mio and I are both adopted. Mio's dad was killed by titans while on a mission and her mom abandoned her. We don't know where I came from. I was left in the woods near the orphanage. Sometimes I wonder where I came from but I love my family so dearly.

"Hurry up grandma Kora!" She passes me. How embarrassing! Even though she's only a year younger then me I can't let that happen. I've always been competitive. I run faster until we are neck and neck. We are both panting now as the fountain comes into view. We leap down some stairs and doge some people. I reach my hand out and Mio does the same. I feel my hand contact the cold water the same time I see hers. Before either of us could say a thing loud booms erupt from the atmosphere.

I look at my sister who has fear in her eyes. The spaced out booms shake the town. Without needing to comunicate, we both head back to our family. People start panicking in the streets. I get shoved by a man running. Then, all pauses when the noise silenced.

"Look!" Someone yells in the crowd. I look to the blue sky that is now littered with smoke. Where could it be coming from. My eyes stay fixed from the direction of the smoke. A gigantic muscled head emerged from behind the wall. It's teeth exposed and it hand crushing the wall. Commotion erupts once more. The wall should protect us it had for some many years. As If the universe could hear me, down the hill, the gate burst open followed by a big titan foot.

"RUNN"
"WE ARE GOING TO DIE"
"TITANNN"

I start sprinting back to my house but realize Mio isn't with me. I look down the orange path and see my sister who seems unable to move. I run back to her.

"This isn't the time to freeze Mio, let's go!!" I yell as I grab her wrist and yank her back up the hill. While running, rocks start plummeting from the sky. Shops and house got smashed all around us.

Mio looks to me, "I'm scared," she says, barely audible, over the screams.

"Let's just get home," I say. In the back of my head I worry about our parents. We turn the corner to our house, in one piece. Everything moved in slow motion. Mio ran ahead to hug our parents. They looked so relieved.

I relax a little before I see a boulderflying through the sky. I scream before it crashed into the side of the house, along with my only family. I can't scream. I can't move. I can only look at the blood splattered across the brick street. Mio's arm peeked out under the rock, not moving. I can no longer hear the screaming, or see the Titans breaching out city. I walk over to my sisters cold hand. I take off the bracelet she always wore and put it on my wrist. Tears fall from my eyes like a waterfall.

Terror is everywhere. I see a women titan drop one of my neighbors into her mouth. Heavy footsteps get closer and closer. I turn around to see the titan looking at me. Before I know it. A guard grabs me and we swing away. How strange it was to watch my home be destroyed and leave my family behind.
