After The World's successful escape, the rebuilding of the three cities he destroyed took place. As the structures were reestablished and roads were restored, an uneasy feeling settled over you.
You were unaware of the conversation Jotaro had with the villain, but the words shared between them left the man in a daze. Out of nowhere, your husband began to accompany you during your scouting shifts.
He became overbearingly protective to the point of overtaking your scouting shifts and leaving you to handle the paperwork at the agency. You began to feel a bit annoyed by his actions which lead to numerous arguments.
For some reason, your arguments always started when you got fed up with Jotaro's constant hovering. Whenever you weren't dealing with robberies involving other metahumans or attacks upon the city, the two of you always seemed to be arguing.
Stalking down the halls of the agency you calmly enter his office and close the door behind you. Then, the smell of ozone fills the air as the lights in the room begin to flicker from your rising anger.
Standing in front of his desk with your hands on your hips you utter, "Jotaro, you can't keep me from the field! I have every right to protect this city just as you do."
Jotaro sighs before responding with "I understand, but I can't take any risks."
"Risks," you inquire dubiously, "We take risks every day!"
Jotaro rises from his seat and rounds the corner of his desk to stand next to you. His eyes are dark with an emotion you can't identify.
Pulling you into arms, he presses his forehead against yours as he says, "That's true, but I won't allow you to needlessly be placed in harm's way."
He releases you quickly when the small hint of ozone thickens, the lights in the ceiling sparking slightly as electricity begins to crackle along your body.
"You say the same thing every time," you frown, "Why can't you give me a better explanation than that?!"
"Obviously," you continue on, "There's more going on and I have the feeling your actions have something to do with him."
Jotaro scowls and simply utters, "I'm only doing what's best for you, [Y/n]."
No doubt at all, The World has gotten in his head.
The lights break with a bang, the sudden surge of electricity causing a blackout. Thankfully, you contained yourself enough to not cause a major blackout.
Without another word, you stalk out of the dark office but before you can make it fully out the door you find yourself walking into Jotaro's arms.
"Jotaro," you huff, "You know I hate it when you do that!"
Wordlessly, the hero wraps his arms around you and pulls you close, ignoring the burning sparks of your electricity.
"I don't want to lose you."
That simple sentence quells your anger in an instant, your electricity humming quietly beneath your skin.
Cupping his face, you press a soft kiss to his lips before saying, "I understand, but remember what you promised when we got married?"
"Yeah," Jotaro sighs.
"Come on," you urge, "Say it."
"We are a 2 in 1 package deal," he mutters, "So even when we're apart we'll always have each other's back."
"That's right," you smile, "So whatever is worrying you, we'll handle it together!"
Jotaro sighs but his expression softens at the sight of your smile.
At that moment, Jotaro made a promise to protect you and that beautiful smile of yours.
Of course, he didn't know how soon that promise would be broken.

More so than usual, the city was in chaos because of the massive prison break of villainous metahumans. Heroes were being stretched to their very limits, their powers being used at alarming rates. The number of casualties was at a controlled minimum but the damages to the surrounding areas were immense.
Heroes both young and old found themselves facing adversaries that should have been locked away for good. No doubt, someone had orchestrated their release and the culprit could have been anyone, but sooner or later they'd reveal themselves.
And in the blink of an eye, the orchestrator of this villainous chaos appeared.
The World had made his grand appearance when you and Jotaro were at the most vulnerable. At some point, you had stopped counting the number of villains you managed to apprehend. The exhaustion taking reign of your body caused you to let down your defenses. This led to an unexpected ambush, one that enabled the villain to knock you unconscious.
"Now, my Empress, you're all mine," he smirks.
The World plans to depart but he pauses when he hears, "[Y/n], where are you?!"
Hearing Star Platinum utter your name causes the villain to grin maliciously. He watches as Jotaro darts around some debris, frantically looking around. When the hero opens his mouth to yell your name again he freezes at the sight before him.
The screams of terrified civilians surround him, the rumbling of falling buildings causes the ground beneath his feet to shake yet none of that mattered.
With a victorious grin on his face, The World stares down at Jotaro with you cradled within his arms.
The hero rushes forward, reaching for your unconscious form but before he could get close, The World vanishes from sight just like he'd done before in their last confrontation.
Jotaro is left reaching toward nothing, expression wild as he searches blindly for your and The World's whereabouts.
"I told you, didn't I," the villain's voice tauntingly echoes around him, "One day she will be mine."
A deep and dark laugh rings in Jotaro's ears as the final thing he hears is, "After all, [Y/n] has always been mine."
