He felt his skin being rubbed against the rocky ground as his conscious faded in and out. He saw the sun in the sky, shining brightly and seemed blurred. The sky was blue, with no clouds for cover, scorching the Earth. Then, he passed out.
He opened his eyes, finding himself in a room, with its walls covered in pieces of metal, reflecting the white light from one single light bulb, flickering in and out.Its wires dangled from the ceiling, with parts of its copper wires exposed.
"At last! you woke up!"
Peter ,wide-eyed, sat up in an instant, and looked around. He could see a ladder, seeming to lead all the way up to the surface. The metal plates on the floor was starting to accumulate with rust, appearing slightly red and black. He got up to his feet and took a step. The floor crunched below him.
"So you don't want to talk? Well, it's fine. You were just bombed last night, weren't you? It's ok to be tramatized.By the way, it was a miracle you walked off unscratched."
Peter stared at the man in front of him.
"That stare is making me nervous, you know. Wait...a...second...I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Sean. What's your name?"
"Peter."
"Hey Peter, want a drink?"
Sean walked to a container holding clear liquid with a tin, and turned the tap. Water started pouing out and he turned off the tap just when it's full.He then proceeded to a gasoline stove and put the tin with water on top. He turned it on and waited until it started to boil, before he took the tin off the stove and put it on a metal table next to Peter.
"Here you go."
Peter looked at Sean, then the tin of water in awe. He always drank from bottled water and it was his first time drinking boiled water in months. He wondered, what kind of career had Sean been involved in?
