You told me that You loved me.
But I never felt worthy of this love.
You told me that I'm fine
Even when I wasn't
Told me that it's just in my head.
Of course, it was.
I was dying slowly then
But did you ever hear
my screams in the silence?

Them, with their pinned up hair
And expensive suits.
Me, with my broken heart
And eyes for you.
I wish you would've
Chosen me over them.
Wish that you
Would've listened to me.
Wish that you wouldn't have
nodded along with their description of
My 'champagne problems'.

So, when I said No,
I hurt you and broke your heart.
But I somehow
saved my soul
And kept my mind sane.
But was I the one
you were looking for?
No, dear, I wasn't.
So, I pray

That you do find her.
Whose picture is in your wallet,
Who has your mother's ring.
This is me,
Saying goodbye,
Leaving your life,
And fading away.
Hope you do remember
the good times,
The bright lights
and my name,
Celeste.

(Inspired by champagne problems. Quick note : The next two poems along with this one are in a trilogy)
