As Josi walked to The Sarelli Hospital, she couldn't get the image of Mon falling down in front of her locker covered in used tampons out of her mind. It was the most disgusting thing that Josi and Mon had experienced. The amount of students taking photos, laughing. She shuddered just thinking about it.
She arrived at the hospital entrance and took a deep breath, it was hard seeing her dad in the state he was in. He was her only parent left, her mom died of leukemia last year and he and Josie were still dealing with the financial and emotional toll it took on them. The stress eventually caught up with him and he had a stroke. Now half his face was paralysed and he was recovering in the hospital.
"I'm here to see Howard McCollin,"she said.
The receptionist lady gave her a bored look and a visitor's pin, and she headed to the elevator to go up to my father's room. She stepped in the elevator and headed up to see him. Ugh elevator music.
She walked to room 10 and opened the door,"Papa bear?"she
asked. My father looked up from reading his newspaper and smiled.
"Hey baby bear, how was school?"
"It was good," she said forcing a smile. No need to worry him.
"What about you, how was your day?"
"It was good too," he screwed up his face, "except for when they gave me strawberry pudding for dessert,ugh, it's like they don't know hot to make a decent three course meal.
She giggled and he smiled a smile almost too big for his face, his small blue eyes wrinkling at the end. If you saw her and her father standing next to each other you could instantly tell they were related. He gave her his freckles, chubby nose, blue eyes and brown hair so you could see that they were related but she got her heart shaped face and pink lips from her mother. Her parents were attractive but their features put together made one awkward looking child, aka Josie.
Josie and her father talked for about 3 hours before she looked at the time and realised how late it was."oh sugar, I gotta go papa bear, gotta go home and talk to Mon about...our homework, yeah that,"she kissed him on the cheek and rushed to get to Mon's house.She hoped she was alright after what happened.
