Sousuke dipped his ink brush in the tiny pot and looked down at the page of his book that lay blank before him as he begins to write a poem. He had written a few of them since he turned 13, thanks to his mother's teachings. Some are about nature, while others presented about his life. But this time, he started to write about her. He had written it half a hundred times in his mind and yet now that he finally had the time to put the ink on its paper, his hand steadied before placing the brush on the sheet and there he began to write it.
His thoughts only spoke as he continues to write a poem about her, describing every part of her. Her appearance, her personality... and her spirit.
Look at the beauty in her lavender eyes,
A glow that shines like the sunrise.
Her smile opens up the cloudy skies,
Her laughter delights the birds around her.
The trees greet her as she passes by.
Her wonderful toes leave their mark, saying goodbye.
A gentle breeze through her soft rosy hair,
She walks elegantly like an innocent goddess.
Rosy cheeks cover her face beautifully.
A flower-child blossoms, kindly accepting embrace.
She is a thorn-less rose without compare.
She is the love my heart will forever endear.
Once it is done, he places the brush on the side of the table and stares at the written poem with a satisfied look on his face. Sousuke felt something touched at the back of his writing hand as he sees Seraphina's golden hairpin on the table, the first gift he ever received from another person. But not just any person, a young woman who befriends him out of empathy and kindness. His smile softened when he replays every moment they had since the day he met her until now in his head. It was miles away from the episode at the Seidou estate that pissed him off.
He always used to go to the forest just to sit, read a book and try to forget who he was or what he had done after a day of Hayato's annoying tortures. Usually, he just did it himself and it was sufficient enough. It was nice to just have a quiet time when he's so tired of hearing people's (like his father and so-called family) bullshit or hearing Hayato give his mocking and insults towards him and his mother.
But to spend that time talking with someone who is so far detached from all that, a polar opposite of his life, it's just refreshing.

"Oh, you do calligraphy and write poems? That's amazing! You must be a great poet and a writer." Seraphina chirped.
Sousuke shrugged as he leaned his back on the bark of the tree and closes his eyes before making a sigh, not quite believing her words. "Not really, and you're just saying that to make me feel better."
