Nat and Steve. Steve and Nat. The assassin and the soldier, it shouldn't work. But it does. After what happened with shield -hydra- and Bucky. Steve was alone. Nick supposedly dead and with Shield on the down low, Steve was lost . His dead best friend is alive who doesn't remember him and Nat was nearly killed. Everything was turned to shit (Language).

Nat walked into Steve's small hospital room, with a tiny bathroom in the corner of it, she had a bruised lip and a small cut on her forehead. She'd been going to see him everyday, expecting him to wake up and everything would be okay- she wanted him to be awake, she NEEDED him to be. But Nat knew Steve's stubborn ass wouldn't. She sat on the chair beside his bed (like she had been doing for the past seven days), she sat and watched him-his nose would occasionally twitch and his hair blonde hair would always be messed up. He looked so peaceful, like the past 2 weeks hadn't happened. His eye was bruised and he had several cuts and bruises all over his body, scars along his arms from Bucky's knife and a small scar on his thumb. She noticed it a couple of days ago, when she was studying him. He wore a hospital gown and laid still, almost looking like he was dead. Nat didn't like leaving when visiting times were over, she hated it. She didn't want him to wake up alone, like he did when he discovered he was asleep for 70 years. She'd hate that for him- to think his worst nightmare was happening all over again. Sam visited sometimes, Clint as well -he wanted to be there for Steve, for Nat. Tony came in a couple of times to check in- making sure his friend wasn't dead. Thor was still in asgard and Bruce on some science tour, Nat didn't know, she didn't really care. But without fail, Natasha would always be there and when visiting hours were over, shed sneak right back in after dark. All the doctors and nurses knew she was there, they felt sorry for her. Its hard when a close friend doesn't wake up, so none of them would even dare to kick her out. The last time she was at her apartment was four days ago. Clint had begged her to go home, get some rest and clean clothes. She had been using Steve's tiny hospital bathroom- but when she did go home, Clint stayed making sure if he'd wake up she'd been the first one to know.

Natasha stayed silent as a nurse walked in the check up on Steve. She pulled out her clipboard, recording his vitals on there, then turned to Nat, who had been watching her. "I've seen you a lot in here." The nurse stated, Nat just nodded not really wanting to get into a conversation with her. "You his girlfriend or something?" She looked at their interlocked hands seeing no ring. "A friend" Nat told her, with a brief smile as a small memory returned.

Nat and Steve were driving in a stolen car. "Was that your first kiss since 1945?" Nat smirked and watched him turn his attention to the road. "That bad huh?" he asked not looking at her "I didn't say that-" He cut her off "Well it kinda sounds like what you're saying" He told her keeping his attention on the road ahead of him. "No I didn't , I just wondered how much... practice you've had" She told, looking at him. "You don't need practice" He argued a little. "Everybody needs practice-" she smirked, knowing how much her bickering is annoying him. "It was not my first kiss since 1945." He paused "Im 95, Im not dead" he smirked a little. Nat looked away, then turnt her head back to him "Nobody special though?" Steve let a little chuckle, "Believe it or not, its kinda hard to find someone with shared life experience." He focused on the road "Well its alright, just make something up" She told him "What like you?" He retorted and Nat shrugged "I don't know. The truth is a matter of circumstance its not all things to all people all the time. Neither am I" Steve looked at her "that's a tough way to live" He said sincerely. "Its a good way not to die though." There was a small silence, "You know its kinda hard to trust someone when you don't know who that someone really is." He told her focusing his attention back on the road. "Yeah" She paused looking at the road ahead of her. " Who do you want me to be?" She asked, looking back at him. He hesitated, then met her eyes. "How about a friend?" Nat laughed a little. "There's a chance you might be in the wrong business Rodgers."

Natasha watched as the nurse adjusted Steve's pillow a little. "So he's single?" The nurse asked her as Nat shoot her a small glare. "He's asleep." Nat told that 'Stupid whore' (As Nat would call her in her head.) The nurse nodded her head, feeling a little embarrassed. "Im sorry, I shouldn't have asked" She told her as she started to go a small shade of red. "Have you got everything you needed?" Nat asked the woman, coldly. "Uh Yeah," The woman paused. "Visiting hours end soon" The nurse told her in that same cold tone and walked out of the room. Nat sat back in her chair, letting her free hand run through her hair. "Fucking bitch" She muttered and sighed, closing her eyes a little. "Language" Steve mumbled and Nat's eyes shot back open.
