Explanation Time

I'd like to start this by saying that I absolutely love this series. The story is amazing with some very unexpected plot twists, the music is phenomenal, and the characters are all fantastic (and very relatable! Beat's story makes me cry and I relate to it on a personal level). I hope that everyone who comes across this series falls in love with it just like I did. 

What is TWEWY?

For those who clicked on this for no reason and has no idea what the heck I'm talking about: The World Ends With You is a video game made by Square Enix that came out on July 27, 2007 (released to the west in 2008) for the Nintendo DS. Many people who played the game begged for a sequel, but none ever came (even the creators wanted to write a sequel and make an anime for it!). In 2012 (5 years after the game was released), a mobile port of the game was release, called The World Ends With You -Solo Remix-. It was the same as the original except with updated graphics and the debut of Coco Atarashi, a Reaper who sold a secret shop to the player. Nothing else happened with the series until 2018 when Square Enix launched a countdown timer for the series to the hype of everyone in the fandom... and then ultimately let them down because it was a port to the Nintendo Switch called The World Ends With You -Final Remix-. This was the same as solo remix, just with more music, a co-op mode, and a brand new side-story called A New Day featuring Coco and a mysterious new character referred to as Hype-Chan (who's name has now been revealed to be Tsugumi Matsunae). There wasn't a single word of information about the future of the series until mid-2020, when The World Ends With You the Animation was suddenly announced. And then the fandom exploded and was trending on Twitter despite being a very small fandom. In November of 2020, Square Enix released yet another countdown timer, to the fandom apprehension. There were a few excited guesses of a sequel or a prequel of the original game, but most expected it to reveal news about the anime. To the surprise of practically everyone who heard about it, it was, in fact, a sequel reveal called Neo: The World Ends With You, starring a(n almost) brand new cast being release July 27, 2021 (exactly 14 years after the game was released in Japan). There. Now you know what TWEWY is without knowing the plot. 

I'm sorry (not really) about that huge rant, though it was more of an excuse for me to talk about the series since I enjoy it so very very much.

Uh let's put it this way: I am not going to write smut, ABO (Alpha/Beta/Omega), or anything that's overly explicit (unless it's, like, someone dying. It's TWEWY you can't avoid that). 

Edit 8/20/21: I'm not gonna write Reader stories (I have one posted at this time) as they aren't really my cup of tea and I don't like writing them.

If I write crack, expect it to be crack taken seriously as most crack fics are painful to read and it'll be even more painful for me to write that. I'll give it my best shot either way.
