Matsuda seemed rather upset the next day so you offer to talk to him. He brightens up almost immediately.
"Hey Matsu."
"H-hey (Y/N)"
"Sorry about last night I had spilt my drink while answering the phone so sorry If I got off in a hurry." You could feel Ryusakis glare burrowing into the back of your head.
"Oh it's okay." He replies seeming to be happier now. "So, did you and L-I mean, Ryusaki get anywhere with finding clues linked to Kira last night?"
L sniggered with a mouth full of cake.
"No, we thought we did but turns out it was a red herring."

L walks up to you and places a perfectly red strawberry in your hand and winks at you before walking off again. You examine the strawberry with caution to fine a small circular hole going through the strawberry where a white piece of paper was rolled up. You read it:

You blush slightly wishing you knew what he was planning tonight. You eat the strawberry before re-reading the note again and shoving it in your pocket.
As 10:00 drew near you make your way down to his apartment block wearing you casual, everyday cloths. You know on the door to see L stood before you.
