{chaptet 16}

You didn't want to open your eyes. You were still sleepy and it was early morning. You wished Kiyoko and Yachi were still here with you. You didn't feel the presence of any other managers or medics in the room, it was quiet. You still didn't know against who you'll play next, but it didn't really matter.

Still not opening your eyes, you smelled something...weird. As you were about to open your eyes, still sleepy, you heard someone knock down a door to your room. You sat up in your bed, not knowing what's going on. And now you recognized that smell.

Smoke.

Your room was filled with smoke, you couldn't see or breath very good. "Y/N" someone yelled. You couldn't concentrate on recognizing the voice, your main goal was to breath. You got up from your bed, your vision getting more and more blurrier every second. Before you could fall on the ground, you leaned on the nearby wall, trying to think of a way to get out. Breathing was becoming more difficult as the smoke didn't stop coming. "She's here" you heard a faint voice from the other side of a big room. You noticed someone's presence near yours, so you reached out your hand in their direction. Before you almost dropped your hand, someone reached out through the smoke. They held your hand, putting it over their shoulder, helping you get up. You still couldn't see well, but you thought there were two guys in the room with you, probably as blind as you. The other one got closer to you, putting your other hand around their shoulder. With them carrying you, you three successfully exited the smoke-filled room.

When you got to the corridor, you could finally breath. Well, not very much, but at least there wasn't as much smoke as in your room. "Shit, I still can't see. Kuroo, which way do we get out of this mother fucking burning building!?" Now you knew who one of them were. You felt somehow relieved, but still questioned who the other one is. It's a guy for sure, but he wasn't from Nekoma, he didn't sound like any of them. You knew his voice, you knew the other guy, but couldn't remember. "Fire is getting bigger,.. Shit. We are near the court B, so the exit should be on the right" Kuroo said, pulling you to the left. You didn't really care about the fact that you can fie right now, you wanted to find out who the other guy is. 'There are probably other people who are still trapped. When the fire started, people probably split up in the small groups to inform other people near them. Nekoma's and Seijoh's room is near managers', and since it's no one from Nekoma expect Kuroo, the other one should be from Seijoh. Voice seems kinda rough, so I'll assume it isn't first year. He called him 'Kuroo' without -san, so he should be a third year too. Oikawa and Makki don't have that kind of voice, and neither does Matsun. So, it only leaves Iwa'. You trued focusing your eyes on the person you assumed was Iwa, but the smoke didn't let you.

Not long after that, you saw light of the outside. You were saved. After finally catching your breath, you started looking for Kuroo and Iwa. They weren't far from you, they were catching their breaths too. After a few minutes, you went to them. "I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused, I-" "Y/n" they interrupted you, causing you to shut up. You thought you were gonna get lectured, but instead, they both hugged you tightly. "We are happy that you are safe now" Iwa said, not loosing his grip. "It wasn't your fault, kitten" Kuroo said, patting your head.

Good news, no one has died, but some of them were slightly injured. Bad news, the interhigh is canceled. The winners aren't decided bc there were no finals yet. You'll just need to wait till the nationals.

The person who started the fire is still unknown, but police assumes it was someone from the people in the interhigh. All your stuff were burned, except your phone which was saved by Kuroo. The busses were called for each team to get them back to their towns. Nekoma's arrived after a few hours, taking you and your team back home. While you were thinking about a traumatizing experience that you just got through, Kenma asked you "Y/n, do you wanna play animal crossing?" You weren't surprised, this was Kenma that we're talking about. You simply nodded, shrugging off the traumatizing thoughts.
