"What happened in there?" Steve questioned tony.

"It's not important." He tried to push off the question but Cap wouldn't let him.

"We all heard a gun shot, Stark. Why?"

"I was testing a theory." Fury interjected, not letting Tony carry the blame.

"With a gun?" Steve was shocked by the idea.

"My theory was right that's all that matters."

"And what was your theory?"

"That I'm bullet proof." Alex said coming out of her room, now wearing a leather jacket instead of her flannel and a pair of heeled ankle boots.

"Where are you going?" Her dad asked.

"Don't worry about it," she said, pulling a purse over her shoulder and walking to the elevator.

"You can't just walk out."

Stepping into the elevator she made eye contact with him as the doors began to close, "Watch me."

The team looked at Tony to see his next move after the doors closed. Nobody ever took that attitude with him, now they had someone who wasn't afraid to.

Tony folded his arms and thought for a minute, "Let her blow off some steam. I want to focus on knowing everything about where she's been the past 20 years."

"Finally somebody's making sense," Banner said standing from the couch, "Where are we starting?"

"Danny."

"The guy from her simulation?"

"Yup. Find out everything you can about him. Come get me when you're done." With the conviction, Tony left the room.

Alex walked into a bar and took a seat at the counter, hanging her purse on the hook underneath.

"What can I get for you?" The bartender asked, coming up to his new customer.

"An old fashioned, please."

"What's the occasion?" He asked, pulling out a glass and starting to mix the drink.

"Just a rough business meeting that I wasn't ready for."

"Those are never fun." He set the drink down in front of her, "Let me know if you need to talk about it." He told her before walking to his next customer.

Alex stirred the drink with her finger and thought about the events that she'd just gone through. Why would her dad let him do something like that? There was a reason she hadn't told anyone, a simple one really, she didn't want anyone to know. Words couldn't even begin to express how angry she was with her dad, how betrayed she felt. There was no way someone could argue that he didn't know what was gonna happen, he didn't even flinch when Fury pulled the gun on her.

"What's on your mind?" A man said, sitting down next to her.

She didn't answer, waiting for the mans partner to sit on the other side of her. No less than 7 seconds later, there was another body on her left. She pulled a sip from her drink and set the glass back down, "You two aren't good at subtleties."

"We never were," The first man said, "How've you been, Lex?"

She looked at the the guy who took a seat to her right, "I''ve been alright, Ash," she looked to the man on her left, "Hey, Ace."

"Hey Alex."

"Glad to see you boys are still doing Danny's bar sleuthing."

"It's what we're good at."
