The citizens of Mantle ran frantically in the streets, being chased by Beowolves and Sabyrs, while Teryxes and Giant Nevermores flew around above them.
On one street, a pair of Atlas Soldiers fired at a pack of Beowolves. A Beowolf managed to tackle one of the soldiers, and the other soldier shot a fiery bullet at it, killing it. The first soldier did not get up. Five Mantas flew overhead, and one of them was taken down by a Teryx. Three Sabyrs round a corner and attempted to run down the street, only to be defeated by a missile. A group of civilians ran down the street that the Sabyrs came from, passing by the hole in Mantle's outer wall. A herd of Megoliaths was pouring in through the hole, and they almost trampled the fleeing civilians.
Somewhere else in Mantle, more Sabyrs were running around, some of which were slain by Fiona, May and Joanna. Nearby, a Sabyr stood atop a car and watched the Happy Huntresses, who chased another Sabyr down an alley. The first Sabyr then jumped down from the car and ran down the street, going around a toppled car to find a Faunus woman and child hiding there.
Nora: Here, kitty kitty!
The Sabyr turned and looked up, seeing Nora standing atop a nearby roof. She jumped down and slammed Magnhild down on its head, killing it. Weiss directed the Faunus woman on where to run, while Marrow and Azura stood nearby with their gun and lance ready. Another large group of Sabyrs approached from down the street. Nora sighed, and she, Weiss, Azura and Marrow gotready to continue fighting.
Elsewhere in Mantle, Blake was running from a Megoliath and three Ursai. Two of the Ursai ran to either side of the Megoliath, while the third ran behind the Megoliath's hind leg. The Ursa behind the Megoliath shoved one of the other Ursai out of the way. It then attempted to tackle Blake, but she drew her katana and used Dust to create a fire clone. Upon impact with the fire clone, the Ursa catched on fire and died. The second Ursa attempted to tackle Blake, and she created a lightning clone, moving to the other side of the street. As the third Ursa leaped to tackle her, she created an ice clone, turned around in mid-air and fired her gun at the Ursa's head. The Ursa smashed into the ice clone, tumbled on the ground and was crushed to death under the Megoliath's foot.
Blake turned a corner and kept running. Due to its momentum, the Megoliath was only able to make a wide turn around the corner, which caused it to slam into a building, breaking the windows on the ground floor and shaking loose some of the accumulated snow. With an angry trumpet, it continued to chase Blake. Just as it swung its trunk, she used her Semblance to dodge, and it ran straight toward Elm, who used her Semblance to root herself in place. Once the Megoliath reached her, Elm grabbed ahold of its face, stopping it in its tracks, which created a shockwave that shattered all surrounding windows. She then used the Megoliath's momentum to lift it into the air and proceeded to hold it there.
Down an adjacent street, Yang and Maira ran toward the Megoliath and then Yang fired her weapon behind her to propel herself forward. As she slided on her knees under the Megoliath, she planted a series of bombs on it. Maira stabbed the Magoliath several times with her claws in it's chest and throat before jumping backwards and landed behind Elm.
Yang: Now!
Elm hurled the Megoliath into the air, and Yang detonated the bombs, killing it. The four took a moment to catch their breath, and Blake turned to some civilians who were hiding behind a toppled car.
Blake: Head to the nearest shelter!
The civilians ran away.
Yang: Those shelters are gonna fill up soon.
Maira: Yeah. And then the question where the others should hide.
Elm: They're all we've got. We just have to hold off the Grimm.
