Spin the Bottle

A month went by and Amelia and Arizona had been inseparable since day 1. Arizona had a major crush on Amelia, but since Amelia was straight she didn't act on it. It was a struggle, but she cared enough about their friendship to not make it a bigger problem. That was until one day Tim asked Amelia out on a date and she said 'yes'. Amelia and Tim soon became the new cute couple around school and Arizona's jealousy got the best of her. It was too painful to see or be around them both, so she started ignoring Amelia more and more.

Arizona's pov:

I got a text.

Amelia: Are you coming to Alex's party?
Arizona: I don't think so...
Amelia: Why?? You're one of his best friends.
Arizona: Idk, I have a lot in school.
Amelia: Pleaaaase I miss you😕
Arizona: Ugh fine, I'll be there.
Amelia: YES THANK YOU❤️❤️

Damnit. I missed her too, so much. I wonder if my brother is coming. Ugh, now I have to figure out what to wear too. Maybe this? I had a tight red skirt with a black body. This will have to do. I put on my makeup and curled my hair. Lastly I put on a pair of earrings and some rings. I dreaded seeing Amelia and Tim, but I did feel hot and was excited to see my friends so this night couldn't be that awful.

I knocked on the door to see a very tipsy Amelia. "Zona!!! Wow you look amazingly hot, come here!" She embraced me in a tight hug. "Amelia I - I like to breathe." I got out. "Oh sorry" she loosened her grip. "I just missed you so much, we barely see each other anymore." she pouted her lip. "I know, I'm sorry." I said in a sad tone. Timothy came up behind her and put his arm around her waist. "Hey sis, you made it!" he laughed being obviously drunk. "Yeah..." I said and quickly left.

I walked inside the kitchen and took a shot. "Hey Robbins!" Alex greeted me. I took another shot. "Oh crap what's wrong?" he asked worriedly. "I am fine and soon I will be great as soon as these kick in." I said. I looked out to see Amelia and Tim laughing. "Nope one more." I said filling up the glass. "Oh noo, you should stop, unless you want to puke all night." Alex said pulling the glass from my lips. "B-but - but." I whined. "No, now tell me what's wrong." he said sternly. "No I can't say." I sighed. "Fine, you'll tell me when you're drunk anyway." Alex shrugged his shoulders and left.

I filled up a glass with wine and sat down by the couch with Meredith. "So you and Derek, huh?" I nudged her shoulder. "Yeah, its new, but I really like him." she giggled. "You guys make a cute couple." I said to her. "Thank you. I actually thought there might be something between you and Amelia at the beginning. Guess I picked the wrong Robbins." she laughed and looked over to see Amelia and Tim dancing. I tried laughing with her but it was painfully hard to do. "I - I have to - I have to go." I said getting up and moving to the kitchen. I took another shot, I didn't care if I would hurl all night, I needed something to make me losen up. Something to make me not think about it.

"EVERYONE IN THE LIVING ROOM NOW - WE'RE PLAYING SPIN THE BOTTLE." Alex screamed. Fun I thought as the alcohol started hitting me. Everyone sat in a circle. Amelia and Tim sat across from me. "Okay I'll start." Jo said spinning the bottle. "Okay so whoever it lands on you'll have to kiss." April said before it landed on Alex. They both smiled at each other and kissed before returning to their seats. "Very nice guys, okay so now it's Alex' turn." He spinned the bottle and it turned to Tim. "Alright fellas smooch this up real good." Amelia laughed. They did a quick peck.

We did a few more rounds before April spinned and it came on me. We both laughed and kissed quickly. Then I made my spin and it landed on... "Amelia!! Ooooo" I heard everyone cheer. CRAP. "We don't have to." I muttered. "No come on, it's no biggie. Keep it in the same family." she laughed and moved closer inside the circle. My heart was beating so fast. I looked over to see Tim decked out, laying on the floor. I climbed towards the middle to meet her. It felt as if everything went in slow motion. My breath was erratic. I placed my hands on her cheeks and moved closer. I hovered her lips before finally letting them touch. We kissed. As I let go we stared deep in each others eyes.

I was all flustered and felt a stare by Alex, he knew. Amelia left quickly after the kiss, maybe she thought it was too weird. After the game everyone went back to talking and dancing. I walked away to the toilet, I felt nauseous. I sat down in front of the toilet. I didn't notice Alex coming in behind me. "So you have the hots for Amelia." he stated. "WTF Alex when did you get in here?" I asked avoiding the question. "Spill it Robbins." he firmly said. I leaned back on the tub behind me and felt a tear fall on my cheek. "I don't know what to do." I cried putting my face in my hands. "Come here." He sat down beside me and pulled an arm around me. I leaned on his shoulder. "What do I do?" I sniffled. "I think you should be friends with her. I mean you like her enough to want to be her girlfriend so why don't you just settle with being her friend. I know it must sting seeing her with your brother, but she's straight. There's not much to do." he stated. "I guess..." I hesitantly said. "She loves you. You don't have to throw away your friendship because of this." he said hugging me one last time. "Now stop sobbing and join the party." He said pulling me up from the floor. "Alright." I said and returned to talking to my friends.

From Amelia's perspective:

She hovered my lips before they finally touched.

Explosions. Lightning. Electricity. Her lips were so soft. I pushed my hand through her hair and one behind her neck to pull her in. How could it feel so right. I graced her bottom lip with my tounge to ask for permission to deepen the kiss, she let me. It got more intense by the second. There was a complete silence in the room. "Arizona" I whispered as our kiss ended. She let go of her grip on my face and cheeks. I looked around to see everyone make a shocked expression. Arizona looked embarressed while I felt shaken. What was that. I've never felt that way, ever! Not with Tim, not with any boyfriend. "Woahhha guys! Good thing Tim didn't see that." Meredith laughed. I let out an awkward grin. Arizona and Alex made eyecontact and gave each other a look, something was going on. "Uhm I have to use the bathroom, why don't you play for me Mer." I said and quickly ran out of the room and out on the balcony.

What the hell was that?? I feel like I can't breathe. I'm nauseous. Wait no it's not nauseua, it's butterflies. Omg. I wonder if she felt it too... No, I have to shake this feeling, I'm straight.

I took a few deep breaths before I got back inside and was met with her smile. "Arizona, hi." I awkwardly smiled. "Hey! Wanna dance?" she tapped my arm. "No, I don't really feel like it." I said shaking my head. "Oh come one, please. As you said, we haven't hanged out in a really long time. Come on!" she grabbed my arm and pulled me out on the dance floor. She swinged her hips back and forth and I stood there awkwardly. "Amelia I know you got moves, don't try to hide them." she snapped and grabbed both my hands in hers. She swinged me around and made me twirl. "There you go!" I loosened up and we both jumped up and down singing to the music. She jumped and put her hands through her flowing hair. I couldn't help but notice her beautiful smile and notice the butterfly feeling coming back.
