After she told Bernadette that she had to leave a lit earlier today, Penny drove straight to the closest pharmacy she could find. Well to be fair not the closest CVS as it was the one where Leonard usually picked about his medicaments. Considering the amount of asthma spray refills he had needed over the last twelve years, it was fair to say that basically every employment there knew him including his wife Penny. As she manoeuvred her car in one of the few available parking spaces, to her surprise the parking lot was really crowded, her thoughts drifted of to the night...well to the night or perhaps the nights events that led to her driving the extra mile to get a pregnancy test. Although Penny could not for the life of her remember much of the actual *coitus*. "Why can't I say sex without having Sheldon's stupid face popping up in my head saying coitus anymore?", the blonde said to herself. However, what she could remember was the morning after. When she awoke Leonard was already out of bed (of course) but just minutes after he came in with freshly baked pancakes. Together they sat in what was once a very geeky room and what was now a half geeky room and ate those delicious pancakes. Soon after Leonard had to go because the boys had promised to help Sheldon with something. Still a little hungover, Penny was glad that she didn't had to come in to work on that day. So she slowly made her way out of bed, into the shower when all of the sudden it hit her. They didn't use any protection last day. "Shit, shit, shit", Penny mumbled as she put some clothes on and tried to find her sneakers. She was somehow able to leave the building without anyone noticing not even Amy and Penny knew that she was home and must have heard the door close. When she arrived at the pharmacy to get Plan B, as she had done before, her legs seemed to have lost the ability to move. She must have stood for at least ten minutes. An older man even asked her if everything was alright. And then she went home. Penny couldn't believe she just went home, never loosing a word about her unsuccessful trip to the CVS to anybody. And now she stood in front of a pharmacy again however this time to get a pregnancy test. "The inevitability of change might be a universal constant." While Penny didn't fully understand the meaning behind what Sheldon suggested the night after he won the Nobel, it sure made sense to her now. In that moment she knew that the test would come back positive. It was a weird feeling. For sure this hadn't been the first pregnancy test she took, but somehow everything was different. Maybe it was because she was now married to her best friend or because she had a job that earned her really good money or because she had this amazing group of friends. And maybe, just maybe she thought to herself that she would be disappointed for the first time if the result came back negative. Still trying to sort out her thoughts, Penny somehow made her way home. When she opened the apartment door, she was surprised to find Leonard standing in the kitchen, cooking spaghetti. Glad that she put the CVS bag in her bigger bag, Penny sat down next to her husband. If Penny hadn't have a pregnancy test in her bag that she wanted to take so badly, she would have noticed the look on Leonards face. He was, judging from the narrowed eyes, probably in as much distress as his wife was. "Penny look", he began, "I meant to talk to you about this for four weeks now. Listen, it is not a big deal and I am not angry or anything. But Howard saw you in front of the CVS. And I think you shouldn't go through something like this alone. I mean after all we are married. I'm so sorry that I wasn't brave enough to tell you sooner that, you know..." He stopped as Penny began to laugh. She didn't know what had possessed her but all of the last weeks tension left her body as she looked into the now seriously confused face of Leonard. "What is so funny", he asked her a bit more aggressive than it was intended. "I didn't take Plan B" with these words she pulled the pregnancy test out of her bag and gave it to Leonard. Now he looked even more confused. "I know I said that I never wanted kids but when I stood in front of that pharmacy I just couldn't go inside" Penny tried to explain. "So you would be happy if this turned out positive?", Leonard asked. "I don't know, yes maybe", the laughing had now stopped and turned into small tears running down her cheeks. Next she felt the warm hands of her husband around her waist as she buried her face in his brown locks. The two minutes they stood there together felt like an eternity. It was Leonard who led go first, slowly taking Penny by her hand as the walked to the bathroom. "Leonard are some infinities bigger than others, because this is taking way too long?" "Well while it is tempting to think so, that is actually wrong and has been disproven by the German mathematician David Hilbert in....", as Leonard saw the face of his wife he immediately stopped. After a few moments of silence, Leonards watch made a sound. "Ten minutes are up", Penny said. While Penny and Leonard set next to each other on the bathroom floor the had put the test face down on the sink. As Penny sat closer to the sink, she slowly moved her hand up grabbing what would most definitely change everything. Leonard immediately started to cry while Penny just sat there unable to move. Descending further down, Penny laid her head in Leonards lap who began to softly pet her hair. Together they said there for more than an hour, trying to sort out their feelings. When they finally found the strength to stand up, the kiss they gave each other made them understand that everything was okay. Looking into Leonards eyes penny knew that she loved him, herself and what lay before them.
