*whistle*

"Hunter will run through the drill once, so watch her," Coach Adams explained to the boys, as they stood by watching me.

I'm currently at my hockey practice. Let my introduce myself. My name is Madison Hunter, although everyone on the team calls me Hunter. I have wavy chestnut brown hair that comes a little past my shoulders. I always have it either in my helmet or in my jersey for hockey games. I'm about 5'5; I'm not fat, but I'm also not a twig I have some muscle on me. I'm in senior year and I guess some people say I'm "good looking."

I'm captain of the boys' high school hockey team. It might seem like a shock to most people, but yes, I do play with the boys. When I was in the ninth grade, there weren't enough girls who wanted to tryout for the girls' hockey team, so I joined the boys' hockey team. I was the only girl willing to try out for their team that actually made it and ever since then, I just kept playing with them. I can't leave my boys, they're family to me.

This year we're training really hard because we always lose in the finals to Carmel High in the championship game. Except this time, we're determined to give it our all to bring home the trophy.

After hockey practice, I went home and took a shower because I was covered in sweat. I changed out of my towel into sweats and ate right afterwards. Right now, I'm currently at my best friend's house. Her name's Riley Thompson; she has blonde hair and she's about 5'4. We've been friends since nursery school, which makes her one of my closest friends. Plus, it's a bonus that we're neighbours.

"Hey Hunter, have you heard?" Riles asked, excitedly. We also have nicknames for each other; I call her Riles and even she calls me Hunter.

"Have I heard what?" I answered, confusingly.

"There's a new kid at Carmel High. He plays hockey and apparently, he's an all-star player on their team!" She exclaimed, impressed.

"I know, I heard that going around school today." I nonchalantly replied.

I already knew what Riley was talking about; although I don't technically know his actual name, apparently, all the students at Carmel High call him "Snow" because that's all you see since he's so fast.

"So, what's happening with you and Ben?" I asked.

Riley and this guy named Ben, just started going on dates more often. I honestly think they're the cutest couple ever. It's like they're literally meant to be; he's the quarterback for the football team and she's the head cheerleader.

"It's going great, we're going on a date this Friday night. We're going to see a movie," Riley excitedly answered. "Oh, and that reminds me! You also have a date on Friday at the movies with a guy. He's one of my brother's friends. They met in summer camp when they were younger, except he got dumped last month by his girlfriend. She's the only reason I didn't set you two up before. Don't worry, he's really cute!"

"Fine," I said, "He better not be annoying the entire time or I'm going to bail on the date."

"That's the spirit, Hunter!" Riles laughed, hugging me.

I know she wouldn't let me say no, because there really is no point in trying to object with Riley. But hey, maybe it will be fun.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"6:45 p.m," Riley replied, glancing at the clock.

"Oh, crap! I better get going, I have homework to finish." I exclaimed.

We said our good byes and I left for home to do all my homework.

Friday night rolled around quicker than I thought. Me and Riles did our hair, makeup, and got dressed at my house; that's where we're both getting picked up. We only wore casual outfits, it was just a movie date. After what felt like hours, we finally finished. Riley and I just gossiped in my room, until we heard a knock at the door. I went down to check who it was and Riley followed me downstairs to the door.

When I opened it, I saw someone I didn't recognize but my heart stopped.

Holy crap, he's hot.

Riley finally noticed him, quickly giving him a hug with a grin on her face.

"Madison Ross, this is River Kingston," Riley gestured to the new boy.

I usually tell people I just meet that my last name is Ross because it's my stepfather's last name. My dad died in a car accident when I was 10 years old, but I still kept his last name since it was my legal birth name; Hunter.

"River Kingston, this is Madison Ross," Riley said excitedly.

"Nice to meet you," River chuckled, with a small smile on his face.

"Nice to meet you too," I said smiling back.

"We should probably get going the movie starts at 9:00 and it's 8:30 now," River informed Riley and I, rubbing the back of his neck.

We said goodbye to Riley and made our way to the car, although Riley and Ben were going to meet us at the theatres anyways. River opened the car door for me, allowing me to get in. I thought it was a gentlemen of him to open the door for me, even though we were only going on a date because Riley set us up. He soon went inside the car on the other side. The car ride was silent except for the radio. I wanted to get this over with, although River did seem pretty cool so far. It wasn't that long till we got there. The movie that was playing this week was The Fault In Our Stars. I didn't read the book, unlike Riley, because I'm not really into reading as much as she is.
