I walked slowly to where Xin and Hannah were. I sigh, and I flash a fake smile on my face.
"I got accepted into the PUA!" They both smiled and hugged me, but I couldn't even be happy for myself, though I love to paint and this was my dream.
"We're so happy and proud of you, Zeni!" I saw how happy both of them were, and Maxine gave her chocolate to me.
"I'll go to Amity Vile. That means I won't see you every day; isn't that sad?"
I heard Maxine sigh heavily, and Jana put her hand on my face. "I will call and message in our group chat every day. You can visit here once or twice a week, and we'll surely visit you there."
Umupo lang kami at nag-usap nila Xin at Hannah sa parke ng ilang oras. Napagpasyahan na naming umuwi na ng medyo dumidilim na dahil maglalakad pa kami pauwi.
I walk slowly as I enter the gate of our house. I see an unfamiliar white Jeep car. As I entered the whole room, I saw Mommy sitting in the coach with a woman who was unfamiliar to me.
"Finally, you're already here." Mommy smiled at me, and she let me sit beside her.
"This is Zenila, my daughter, and Zenila, this is the Avis family." I smile at the old woman and the old man beside her, and I think it's his husband. Both of them are in their 40s, and I notice the one who is sitting alone in the other coach. He has green eyes, red lips, thick eyebrows, and brown hair.
"You're so pretty, hija." Mrs. Avis caught my attention. "Maraming salamat po." I humbly said to her.
"This is my son, Miguel Dane Avis." She proudly introduced his son to me.
This guy is handsome but probably not my type because, for me, he's too suplado.
Pilit akong ngumiti sa kanya at agad na tumayo. "Excuse me po, aakyat na muna po ako sa taas para makapagpalit at makapagpahinga." agad na nawala ang ngiti sa labi ko dahil hinawakan ni Mommy ang kamay ko.
"Before Mr. and Mrs. Avis go, I would like to introduce you to Miguel. Since we can't be with you in Amityville because our business is here, you will surely want to enroll in a school there while studying to paint. You will be in Miguel's condo."
My mouth dropped at what I heard.
Damn?
" Mom! " medyo napalakas ang pagkakasabi ko dahil sa gulat.
Napatayo naman si Mommy agad at bakas sa mukha na natataranta dahil sa ginawa ko.
" They are our family friends, and Miguel is a good man. Both of you are the right age, and I just can't let you stay alone in a condo, so I contacted them, and Miguel said that it was fine." agad akong napagtingin kay Miguel.
Fine?
Mukhang play boy to eh. Pano na siya niyan makapagdadala ng babae sa condo niya kung dun ako?
"Zeni, don't worry. I'll slap my son if he does anything that you don't want. I'm on your side as long as my son is wrong." Mrs. Avis said, and she sweetly smiled at me.
"Go fix your things because Miguel will be here tomorrow, and both of you will leave here in Carlota." Itinukak ako ni Mommy pa akyat ng hagdanan at tinignan ko naman si Miguel na malamig na nakatitig sa akin.
I love to look into her eyes, but it feels like every time I watch him look at me, it feels like it's haunting me.
How could she have a sweet and angelic face while her husband and son look like they are ready to punch someone in the face?
