Pasta

I watched Miguel put my suitcases in the back of his car. He's too serious to put them all together, so he doesn't have time to notice that I'm watching him.

"I'm going to miss you, my dear Zenila." My mom caught my attention as she said it.

"I'll miss you, mom, and also dad; by the way, where is he?" I saw how mommy's happy expression turned into a tired face expression.

"His busy work is as usual; there's nothing new. Don't worry, I know he will miss you because you are his only daughter, and he's giving you everything you want."

I saw him talk to me a bit, and both of them smiled at each other before he went here in his car.

I sat properly, and I only turned my face on the road while both of us were here in his car, and the silence in here was giving me a headache.

"What do you want for breakfast? Should we go on a drive-through?"

"I don't eat fast food, and I don't like to eat in restaurants." I saw how he turned his head toward me with an amazed expression in his eyes.

"Don't think any negative things about me. Sanay lang talaga akong kumakain ng lutong bahay na pagkain instead of eating outside." Marahan naman siyang tumango at itinuon na ang buong atensyon niya sa daan.

"Can you wait for more than a one-hour trip?" tumango ako sa kanya kahit hindi ko alam para saan ang itinatanong niya.

"Good, I'll cook some pasta for you." I can't stop myself from reacting to what he said.

"You cook?" nakangiti naman itong tumango at halata sa expression ng mukhs niya na proud siya.

"Can you cook pinakbet, adobo, and other ulams?" I saw a small, smirking flash on his face while driving.

"I live alone, Avy. What do you expect me to do when I'm hungry?"

"I thought you eat outside when you are hungry because you are too rich to learn things like cooking."

I heard her mockingly laugh about what I said. His handsomeness and the fact that he can cook are reasons why there is a big chance that a lot of women in Amityville really admire him.

"I know how to cook and do basic housework."
That's good for him. I wish I could learn how to cook and do basic housework as well. I'm just good at painting, and I love to become a model.

After some minutes of staying silent in his car because we couldn't talk anymore, we finally arrived here at his condo.

"Your condo is big; how many rooms are available here?"

"There are four rooms, including my room. You can choose your own room; I won't mind."

"This is pasta al pomorodo. This is my favorite pasta, and I hope you love it like I do." Ngumiti ako at nag umpisa na akong kainin ito.

"You have a good taste when it comes to pasta. I actually love it, and you are good at cooking it." I said it with a big smile on my face.

"Thanks for the compliment, Avy. This was my first time cooking for someone who is not part of our family." Agad akong nagulat sa sinabi niya.

It's his first time? Does this mean he doesn't have a past girlfriend? Maybe he's only looking for a fuck buddy and is not into serious relationships.

"By the way, you should learn how to cook a few basic dishes because I'm not always in my condo. I spend time in my office to do a few things." Marahan akong tumango.
