"If you don't let yourself breathe, you'll die," James reminded her as they stood at the edge of Quidditch locker rooms and stared at the pitch. "And if you die, I'll be pissed. I'm not postponing the match because the Seeker decided to drop dead. And then I'll have to pull in Longbottom. Don't make me pull in Longbottom."
Angela elbowed him in the gut, "Trevor will do fine."
"You'll do fine," he countered.
"Tell that to the knots in my stomach."
He rolled his eyes, "Gear up, sis. We've got a bunch of snakes to beat."
And after that, Angela was going to go illegally practice Dark Magic behind her brother's back with Sirius's estranged brother. It was definitely the match she was worried about.
"Oi, Potter!" Marlene McKinnon called out from behind her. Angela turned around, "Get your ass in here! We don't have time for you to be chickening out. We've got a game to win!"
Angela nodded in agreement, shooting one last furtive glance at the field before joining Marlene in the locker room. Everything would be fine.
A mere five minutes into the game and it was pouring and hard. Angela shook her head slightly as she squinted, looking around for any sign of the Snitch. It was hard enough in broad daylight but in the rain it was damn near impossible.
"Ten points to Gryffindor!" the announcer exclaimed. "Amazing goal by Potter! Correction: Amazing score by the male Potter. That's right, you heard it here first folks. This is Angela Potter's first game as Gryffindor's official Seeker. Unfortunate circumstances for the younglings debut game but it'll show us if she can really hold her own."
Angela wanted to hex the announcer so he would shut the hell up.
"So much for a decent Gryffindor Seeker," Regulus mused and she sent her best glare in the boy's direction. "It's tough luck that it poured during your first game."
"Hey, Reggie?"
"Hmm?"
"You really should stop getting so easily distracted."
"What are you talking about?" he asked in confusion, turning to look at her but she was already gone. His eyes widened slightly and he immediately took off after her, fighting against the harsh sting of the rain.
He spotted the snitch a foot or so away from the girl and he darted toward it. She saw it as well and quickly readjusted her position, diving toward it.
They both sped toward it at full speed, their hands reaching out to grab it when a bludger came from nowhere, nailing Regulus in the side and sending him flying into Angela. The two rolled off their brooms onto the muddy grass.
The crowd fell silent as they watched the two tumble onto the field. Regulus managed to stop the two after he got a chance to get over the grunt of the impact.
Regulus let out a breath as he propped himself up so that he wasn't crushing the girl. "You okay?" he asked.
She nodded, a grin forming on her face. "Oh, I'm great, Reggie," she muttered before she adjusted her hand and held it up for him to see. The Snitch flickered slightly in her hand but she kept a tight grip on it, "And I won."
The portion of the crowd adjourned in red and gold burst into cheers, chanting some variation of 'The Potter's' or 'Go Lions.'
Regulus let out a sigh of defeat but a faint smile made its way onto his face as he watched the girl. She raised her hand and brushed the hair out of his face. The rain continued to pour around them and she gestured to his cheek, "You know, you got a little mud there."
He raised an eyebrow, "You-"
"Get off of my sister, would you?" James requested as he ran toward the two. Regulus rolled off of her immediately before James helped Angela to her feet and embraced her in a tight hug, "I told you you'd do great."
"Doesn't hurt that the Slytherin Seeker sucks," Angela mused and James let out a laugh. She pulled away with a grin, "I did do great, didn't I?"
