It was a bright and sunny day in the land of Equestria, and in a place called Equestrian Savannah, an alpha lion named Prince Solaris was trying to teach his son, Dusk Shine how to fight while shaking a lion-shaped rattle. As Dusk Shine kept dancing and jumping around, Prince Solaris said "No, no, son. Over here. See the lion? Look at the lion, and you get the lion." When his son didn't listen to him, he sighed in exasperation. Then, he made him stop dancing as he said "Now, son, if you're gonna grow up, and be like your daddy someday, you gotta learn how to fight." Dusk Shine touched Prince Solaris's nose as he said "Da-da." Prince Solaris chuckled, and then showed him a brilliant rose star with five white stars, three of them on one side and two of them on the other side on his paw as he said "Now, Dusk Shine, let me show you something, okay? You see this mark?" "Ah!" Dusk Shine said as he rubbed the mark with his paw. "You and me are the same. And, when you're bigger, you're gonna be alpha lion, just like your daddy. Now, let me see you fight. Ready?"

Dusk Shine prepared to fight, but instead, he started dancing as Prince Solaris said "No, Dusk Shine! No dancing!" He then stopped the dancing as said "You just amuse yourself, don't you?" He picked his son up as he said "You're a strange cub. You're a strange one.I'm-." He stopped talking when Dusk Shine switched between happy and sad face with his paw. Prince Solaris chuckled, and said "Now, come on, let's try it again." He placed him on the ground, and he shook the rattle as he tried to get Dusk Shine to attack it, but he just kept dancing. Little did he know, Prince Solaris was being watched by a lion with a patch of light amber mane, and light brilliant arctic blue eyes named Prince Blueblood as he said "No, Dusk Shine. Stop that. Stop that right now. Doggone it!" It looked like that Prince Blueblood was about to pounce on Prince Solaris, but instead, he just stood up and said "It's so disappointing when they don't grow up the way you want them to." Prince Solaris sighed in irritation, and said "Prince Blueblood. You're not challenging me again, are you?" "Look on the bright side, Solaris." Prince Blueblood said smirking. "After I defeat you, and take over as alpha lion, you'll have so much more time to spend with your pathetic excuse of a son."

Filled with anger and irritation, Prince Solaris looked at Dusk Shine who was chasing a butterfly, and looked back at Prince Blueblood as he said "Before I kick your butt, let me ask you. Why do you even want to become the alpha lion?" "I'm better looking, I have better mane, I'm deceivingly smart, and I want every animal else to do what I say." Prince Blueblood said. Prince Solaris just rolled his eyes as he sighed. "We'll fight on three. One." Prince Blueblood said preparing to fight. Prince Solaris then looked at Dusk Shine as he said "Pay attention, Dusk Shine. Daddy's gonna show you how it's done." "Two, three!" Prince Blueblood said as he tried to pounce on Prince Solaris, but he got the jump on him, and they started to fight. Just then, Dusk Shine got distracted by the butterfly again, and he chased after it while dancing and jumping. He then fell over as the butterfly landed on him, and he accidentally place it in his mouth. Just then, he spotted a rope nearby as he spitted the butterfly out. He tried to catch the rope, but it moved a few inches away from him. As it moved away even further, he chased after it. On the other side, Prince Solaris had defeated Prince Blueblood as he pinned him down, and said "Who's the alpha lion?" "You are." Prince Blueblood said in pain. Prince Solaris then let him go as he said "Don't you forget it." He turned to Dusk Shine as he said "And that, Dusk Shine, is how you attack-!" He stopped talking when he realized that his son ran off, and he said "Dusk Shine?"
