Chapter 1 - Fourth grade!

"Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!" I shouted out loud. This is going to be the first day of fourth grade! I rushed to my best friend Diamond's dorm room. 

Diamond was also super excited. "Youreilia, I wonder if breakfast is going to be amazing!"

There was only one way to find out. Without hesitation, we rushed down to the breakfast hall. "Last one down is a rotten eggplant!"

So we ended up getting there at the same time. Not worth all that stair running though. But, we did get some of the freshest vanilla chocolate ice cream pancakes! Those were only served on special occasions.  

After breakfast, there was an announcement. "All students, please report to the school hall now. The school opening ceremony is about to start."

Me and Diamond quickly stuffed the last of our pancakes (Not kidding, I ate twenty-five pieces!) into our mouths and went to the school hall. After a while, the lights dimmed and Principal Feather came out and a spotlight shined on her. She was beautiful, but also VERY strict.

"Dear all students," the principal said in a very strong voice. "Welcome to a new year of learning. All of you have grown quite a lot. I expect you to be even better this year." 

I thought for a moment, but the principal spoke before I could finish thinking. "For fourth graders, you will have the locket ceremony today. Get ready to collect your magical lockets. Remember, do not use them to satisfy your own greed." 

You must be wondering what the locket present ceremony is. It is a ceremony that all fourth graders of the Castle of Dreams go through on the first day of fourth grade. There is a table on the stage laid with lockets and each princess goes up to the stage one by one. Lockets will be drawn to a princess' brilliance and royalty, and at least one locket will float to the princess and that will become her locket forever. It contains amazing power.

"That's all." The principal said, ending the speech. "You may be dismissed."

Then, all the students went back to their dorms. I will really need to choose a pretty outfit for the locket ceremony this afternoon! But before that, we have lessons. I wonder who my teacher will be!
