A man sat cross legged in his office in the middle of the floor, the room was dimly lit by candles and burning incense. He furrowed his brow and quivered his mustache as he sat in deep concentration. Time seem to go tortuously slow for him. Mr Brown always was impatient. He let out a huge sigh and stood up, he blew out the candles and incense to peek out of his blinds into the outside world. It was a cloudy day, which seemed to be everyday in New Wark. But it didn't bother him Detective Brown never really much cared for the sunshine seem to hurt his eyes. He caught a dashing woman in a fancy coat near the entrance of his building complex. It was a fluffy white coat that complemented her white porcelain skin and smooth silky blonde hair. He heard a loud obnoxious ring that sounded like a old oven timer. He hated that alarm... many times he took a hammer and a screwdriver to the walls trying to pry it out from the walls. But the damn thing wouldn't budge it was like it was apart of the whole building foundation.
He hurried and took the candles and incense and threw them in the bin overflowing with takeout trash. He stuffed the trash bin in the tiny closet and slammed the doors shut. He picked up his clothes off the desk and chair then threw them on the coat rack by the entrance door. He then cleaned his desk and organized everything making sure his clients looked like he knew what he was doing. Opening the desk drawer he saw a half eaten tuna sandwich still sitting inside. He began to panic as he heard footsteps up the stairs. He threw open the window with it's broken latch and tossed the sandwich onto the street below. Thank the lord know one was around he thought! He shut the window and sat down in his patched up swivel chair. The door creaked open on it's old hinges as the beautiful lady walked in. Detective brown swiveled around to get a better look. He was right she was a damn smoke show. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of light brown and her lips were a glossy red. She had a beauty mark on her left cheek subtle but refined. There was a man with her but definitely not her husband. He had a black suit and huge sunglasses that covered his eyes. Buff and looked mean as hell. Definitely a body guard. Alright Dawson, you can wait outside. He raised his scarred eyebrow, "are you sure ma'm?" "Yes it's quite alright it will just be a moment, Thank you." Dawson nodded and left with her coat in hand. She had a equally beautiful white dress. With white Pearl's and ribbons near the top.
How do you do Mr. Brown, I'm Lady Rosa Blanca but you can call me Rose.
"Ah yes Rose, it's a pleasure to meet you."I sat completating what to say next I felt a lump grow in my throat. "So you must be wondering why I'm here... well to tell you the truth it's quite embarrassing."
"I'm listening" She began to fidget with her white hand bag, with white pristine gloves. "Well it's about my husband you see, he has been acting very strange lately. I felt my self deflate as she mentioned her husband. Damn I thought, why do the beautiful girls always have to be married? I swiveled around in my chair trying to hide my disappointment, "What do you mean strange like what?" "My husband is in the movie business that's how we met; He was a director in one of the films I was acting in though that was several years ago. "Your an actor why I should've guessed you certainly look like one." "Mr brown you flatter me too much." She paused for a moment looking as if she was regretting coming here. "I think he might be having an affair." She blurted out. I was taken aback, the damn fool I thought. Who would cheat on a dame like this!? "Oh?"
"I couple days ago I went into his office, I never go in there as we have a maid who cleans but this time she was sick. So I went in there to tidy up and found a tape recording it was of a woman, and she was definitely saying some inappropriate things. Quite appalling the whole thing I felt betrayed that my Georgie would do something like this! Go behind my back! Get in with a another woman! Why it makes you just want to-" "Enough, I get it... so why did you come to a detective for this?" She put her hand bag down and looked down "Well I knew marriage counseling was out of the question he would never admit to it and a divorce is not an option either you see this marriage has financial benefits for both of us and I can't ruin this over some whore!" She began to stammer, I couldn't help but stare at her beauty. "Also I don't have any evidence any more. I snuck back in his office yesterday and the tape was gone! He must've of hid it but I don't think he knows. That why I need some one with experience like you to find me some. Maybe I can confront him then and sort it out." I was aghast at how crazy this sounded. I'm a detective not a meddling thief. She wanted me to go in and steal so called "evidence" the nerve of this lady to come in and insult my practice. But she was just so damn hot, plus the clients have been running dry, no doubt she will pay well too. "Fine I will do it, if all I have to do is sneak in to his office and find some evidence then so be it. But it won't be a cheap matter" "Oh of course not, I know there is a risk and I will pay you well I assure you Mr. Brown." I closed my eyes for a brief moment oh no I thought, what it I get bloody caught! What then! I'll probably be dead shot in the face by her rich husband. No doubt they will hide my body and no one will ever knew I died! The stakes were high but I needed the dough bad. I just want out of this damn town and move on to bigger and better things. "I made sure to write everything to need to know and it's all in this envelope." She passed me a yellow envelope filled with paper I peeked inside and also saw a fat wad of cash. "I also made sure to include some pay before hand in case you know-" "Oh I understand, thank you Lady Rose, I will do my utmost best to serve you!"Lady Rose got up from her chair as the bodyguard walked back in. "Thank you Detective Brown I don't know what I would do without you." She walked towards my chair and leaned towards my face. It caught me off guard and I was red as a tomato; She turned my face gently with her gloved white hand and kissed me squarely on my cheek. I froze in my seat not knowing how to react. "My you look confused, it's just a way that we greet each other and say good bye in my home country. I hope I wasn't to rude to push my customs on you-" "Oh no it was quite alright, splendid in fact I always wanted to go to France!" "How on earth did you know Mr brown?" I stood up and put my hands in my pockets, "well I am a Detective." She began to chuckle to herself ladylike as can be, "Why you are a charming fellow aren't you." I looked over and saw the body guard do some strange hand signal, hopefully it had nothing to do with me.
"Oh dear I'm afraid I have stayed just about too long I must take my leave now Detective Brown." "It was a pleasure doing business with you madame." She walked curtly out the door as the body guard stared me down for a few seconds. I met his gaze but it wasn't a threatening gaze. You might would have missed it if you weren't looking closely, but it looked like a cry for help. The door closed shut as I heard the dings of the elevator. I hurried and peeked out the blinds of my second story window but the man didn't look at me again. Strange... must have just of been a folly. I began to feel a sense of nervousness in my stomach as I watched the rolls Royce's drive away.
