" We are not engaged! And this will never happen, guess what a huge gift is waiting for you downstairs. I am sure it will surprise you to the core."

he left leaving her behind, walking toward stairs he looked down to find himself being center of attention. every light was switched off leaving him in focus light, when people didn't saw veronica with him they started murmering in themselves and vaishali who heard their wispers tried to not look at them.

alas, soon veronica came running behind him which gave vaishali a sigh of relief. stopping their whispers they continued to look at stars of the night as people started clapping in excitement.

smiling to people below veronica tried to hold his arms when jay pushed her away and ignoring her presence stared at mr. khanna. his eyes held hidden danger beneath them as mr. khanna felt insecure and scared. he couldn't bring himself to look back into jay's eyes as he angrily glared at his daughter instead.

jay smirked at his behaviour, not long after one man came running upstairs and gave mike to jay who gladly accepted.

for last time he looked into eyes of his dear mother who was now questioning his behaviour through her eyes, he just smiled in return and then holding mike closer he said,

" thank you for everyone to coming to this grand party."

hearing his words people cheered in response, in this party jay specifically allowed cameras inside, this party was indeed grand but not for an engagement but of expose show! he wondered wether he was some kind of spy who exposed people's dirty secrets.

" today itself is a day for celebration but not for any engagement. there is no engagement going to be held here but today i am going to show you something really surprising. specially you mum, it will be huge blow for you."

vaishali felt strange looking at her son but she too was curious what surprise he was talking about! but she didn't liked one a bit jay denying the engagement in front of guests. because of people's presence she stayed silent and continued to listen him meanwhile mr. khanna pushed his wife to talk to vaishali who was standing ahead of them near stairs.

" vaishali what game your son is playing now? earlier you said he agreed to marry my dear daughter but now look at him he is denying everything and what surprise he is talking about? you know right auspicious time for engagement is today itself and if delayed engagement will be postponed till next year? stop your son! he is embarassing us!"

when mrs. khanna talked she never once conceled her voice as many people around them heared their conversation including jay standing above, vaishali felt embarassed as now people got another topic for gossiping but before she could respond to her jay's voice rang inside their hall grabbing full attention of people.

" you will face more embarassment in future mrs. khanna. now ladies and gentleman may i ask your attention to screen behind you. please start!"

almost after he finished focus light on him went off and screen in front of started displaying some images and documents. one by one everyone saw images clearly.

" isn't it veronica? but whom she is with? this doesn't looks like jay !"

veronica who was quite all this time widened her eyes in horror founding her and her boyfriend's pictures getting displayed on screen. 

' no way! this jay actually investigated me! oh my god! if i didn't stopped him now he will ruin my reputation. our plan would get destroyed! no way i have to stop him immediately!'

she then grabbed jay's hand and pleaged him to stop all this.

" jay please, i am sorry i troubled you and aunty please stop this! i swear we will get out of your lives! please stop this!"

she was whispering all this to him to not let others know about this but jay didn't cared as he harshly spoke,

"didn't i already warned you to get out of our life or you will regret this but you stubbornly stayed. now, don't think your apology will stop anything! specially when i found reason of my mother's condition today! i will never forgive you and your family for hurting my mum."

widening her eyes in horror she stood still staring at this uncontrobally cruel man before her, she never knew this man before her was cunning and scary. hearing him she knew one thing she and her family is going to get destroyed today and he might still not leave them specially when he knows that it was none other than her mother and father who planned vaishali's accident back then and then her mother saved her by donating her blood to her.

they did this just to get few benefits from her in her father's business, but who knew that something will get wrong and vaishali would be traumatized and will get panick attacks because of this. she shut her eyes in regret while both husband and wife pair looked at screen widening their eyes in horror, screen showed their every crime be it their hands in black market or prostitution everything was shown.

specially at last it was showed with all evidences that accident vaishali faced ten years back had hands of khanna family. both husband - wife pair stood still in thier place staring back at screen, not long after loud slapping sound grabbed everyone's attention as they saw vaishali slapping mrs. khanna continously.

mrs. khanna soon pushed away vaishali who was immediately supported by raghav who glared at woman in anger.

" you people dared to play with us kapoor family! you have to pay consequences for this! my wife vaishali always treated you like friend but you turned out to be foe who continued to back stab her!"

rajni (mrs. khanna) this time didn't stayed still and shouted, " so what i took advantage of her? didn't she got all good things in her life if she gave me some money what's problem in that!"

" she gave you or you manipulated her into giving you? ( jay spoke as he walked downstairs) don't think i don't know how you would manipulate mother for help just because you saved her from accident planned by you and your husband itself!"

jay continued, " you guys did every bad thing even tried to kill my mother! i will never forgive you people."

meanwhile police entered in hall and captured both husband wife and although veronica was not involved she too left with her parents looking down on her feets. vaishali fainted in raghav's arms as he carried her back to their room while jay asked guests to leave.

after that he went to his room and sighed, finally this chapter named veronica was closed for forever. meanwhile kriti was eating potato chips watching tv screen, she munched changing channels when she stopped at news channel.

looking at familiar picture with missing word written below it she raised her eyebrows as she listened to reporter.

" mr. jonathan d'suza a foreigner working in india has been found missing!"
