You woke up before your alarm for maybe the first time in your life. The thought of Sinclair and the kiss he left on your cheek last night would not leave your mind. For the next half-hour you lay in bed contemplating how early it was too early to call Sinclair. The loud sound of your alarm filled your apartment snapping out of your trance as you made your way over to the bathroom. As you got ready you continually glanced at the clock on the wall trying to figure out the best time to call Sinclair. You tried to wait as long as possible, not wanting to seem too desperate, but the truth was you were desperate, you really liked Sinclair and hoped you would get to spend more time with him, whether you admitted it or not. As 8:00 rolled around you picked up the number on your nightstand, dialing the number into the phone, pausing, taking a deep breath realising how nervous you were.
You placed your hand on the jaket beside you, fiddling with the sleeve as the phone rang. Hopefully you wouldn't have to leave a voicemail, that would just draw the situation out longer than you wished. You hated talking on the phone, it made you feel extremely uncomfortable. All you wanted to do was talk to Sinclair in person and return the jacket, and maybe spend some more time with him. Before you knew it the line connected and a velvety voice filled your ear.
"Hello, Sinclair Bryant speaking."
"Hi Sinclair, this is (y/n), I was wondering when you wanted your jacket back?"
"(y/n)!" he sounded very pleased to hear your voice. "I was wondering when you would call, anytime is fine, I am free around lunch if you would like to go out and grab something as well, if not that's all right, I understand."
You silmed, you were glad to hear that he had been thinking about you as well and thankful that he also wanted to spend more time with you. "That sounds lovely Sinclair, what time works for you?"
"How does one thirty sound? I can pick you up at the bakery if you would like."
"That sounds just perfect Sinclair, I'll see you then." you smiled ear to ear, happy to spend more time with Sinclair, you truly enjoyed his company.
Sinclair hung up the phone, sinking back into his office, relieved that you had said yes. He smiled and spun around in his office hair. All you have to do is not mess this up. He thought to himself, hoping that if this outing went well he might have a chance at seeing you again. He stared longingly at the clock, 1:30 couldn't come soon enough.
When you arrived at the bakery you hardly said hello to Julie. You could not stop thinking about lunch with Sincalir, you hardly thought about anything else. You and Julie worked side by side almost the entire morning until you broke the silence around noon. "I'm going out for lunch in about half an hour, is that fine with you?"
"Ahh so that's why you look so nice," she turned to you and crossed her arms. She had noticed you walked in with a suit jacket that was obviously not yours, and instead of your usual messy bun, you had taken the time this morning to loosely curl your hair. "who are you going out with?"
"I never said I was going out with anyone."
"OMG, It's that guy from last night isn't it?!?" she asked, excited that you were getting back out there again. You rolled your eyes not wanting to admit that you were going out because you didn't want to make this lunch with Sinclair into something it wasn't. "Maybe, maybe not." You replied as one thirty rolled closer.
You were in the back when Julie came running to get you. "He's here!" She smiled, handing you his suit jacket and pushing you towards the front of the bakery. As you made your way out of the kitchen you noticed that Sinclair was leaning down admiring all the sweets in the display case. You took this opportunity to sneak around the counter and stand behind him.
