Animals lined the street. Smaller near the walls of the buildings because of their sizes. Horns blew and sirens wailed in the city. Skyscrapers and other buildings loomed over the inhabitants like grey titans watching ants crawl along the paves rides and concrete sidewalks of the concrete jungle. In amongst the denizens on the city, there was a certain creature making waves in the crowd. . . literally. As he walked down the sidewalk, carnivores and herbivores both were making a path for the odd creature. His black hair glistened in the sunlight and his red sunglasses glistened and blocked his eyes from the sun. The voices stopped as he walked down the sidewalk. Stopping, staring, pointing. He was used to it.
It wasn't unusual for him to be stared at like this. Not many animals see humans anymore. They were extinct now and he was the only one left. His mind was only on his book in his hands. Even though his nose was buried in the book, his peripheral vision was on wide alert. The boy is a major history buff and his thirst for knowledge has been going wild since he turned 15. Every once in a while, he would look up and see where he was at as he made his way down the street. After several minutes, he finally arrived to his destination, The Cherryton Hospital. He walked in and sat down in the waiting room and continued reading his book. He sat there, Adjusting his backpack on his tuxedo and tapping his foot on the floor. Animals went in and out of the door, both medical staff and patients checking in and out of the hospital.
He almost finished the next chapter when a hand landed on his shoulder. Looking away from his book and to the hand, he sees the black skin encompassing the fingers clenching down gently on his shoulder. Looking up, he sees a gorilla in a doctors white coat looking down at him. His face, with his own glasses gleaming in the light, was monotonous, no expression other than mirth in his dark brown eyes. "How you doing, Kid?" he asks letting go of the boy's shoulder and sitting down beside the boy. "Doing fine. Almost finished the last chapter." He says, placing a bookmark in the place he was at last and closes the book. Before he had a chance to put it up, the gorilla picks up him and brushes his tuxedo off.
"Hurry up, Ichiro. we can't be late for your own birthday party." He laughs and the boy, now named Ichiro, follows the big gorilla. "I know, but I didn't want to start without you, dad." He says, catching up to the gorilla. He and his dad walked out and got into a 2009 Mercedes and began to drive home. After about an hour, he pulls into a large, metal gated driveway and up a long, well maintained road. The house was a 3 story house on a 17 acre lot. Baby blue walls with red clay roof tiles. a large 40,000 gallon pool in the left yard and a garage a little bit above the house on the hill filled with classic American muscle cars and expensive exotic cars packed into it. If you haven't guessed, his family was rich. His father was a very wealthy trauma surgeon who loves his job.
Ichiro and his father walked to the large house and there were two cars parked directly under the metal car shed, one wrapped in a bunch of matte black wrapping paper. Ichiro guessed it was for his birthday. Before either of them got to the door, it opened and three female gorillas are standing there. Two are around Ichiro's age and the third was his mother. "Hey, Ichiro! We kind of couldn't hide it so we left it right up front." she says as she smiles at him. "Thanks, mom. You really didn't have to do all this. I would have been fine with a regular car." he says looking at the familiar car shape wrapped in wrapping paper.
"Oh, nonsense! Your our baby boy and you deserve the best!" She says before Ichiro is glomped by his two younger sisters in a hug. Ichiro looked at his mom after he had gained his footing. "Not really, mom. I don't 'deserve' anything." He says, clearly showing he don't like that he can have anything he wants at any time. In all actuality, he hated it. He preferred to work for the things he gets. It makes it feel much more satisfying. "You do on this, my boy." his dad says as he rubs Ichiro's back. "Go ahead and open it." He says. Ichiro sets his backpack down and goes to the car. Grabbing the rubber textured wrapping paper, he pulls the paper and a grey coated car is revealed. His heart beats faster in excitement. Tearing at the paper like a child at Christmas, he gets all of the paper off and before him sets a completely restored 1967 Ford Mustang GT500.
"Oh, my god!" Ichiro says as he begins to get excited from the car sitting in the driveway. As he was acting like a child, his mother walked up and held a letter in her hand. Getting Ichiro's attention, she hands him a paper from Cherryton Academy, somehow, making him even happier that he has now got into the academy. "Wait a minute. It says I need to be there at 12 noon." Ichiro says before looking at his watch. "IT'S 10:30 RIGHT NOW!" Ichiro yells before grabbing his stuff and sprinting into the house and gets out of his dirty clothes, take a shower and gets himself presentable in his rather expensive clothes and then runs out of the house to his new car. "Thanks mom, dad. I'll tell you how it goes." Ichiro says before starting up the 429 engine and driving off towards the school. He now had only 13 minutes to get there before the deadline and missed this golden opportunity.
His car pulled into the parking lot of the academy and he almost squealed the tires coming to a stop. Grabbing his stuff, he shuts the car door and begins to sprint into the academy. As per the norm, everyone had matching clothes for the guys and dresses for the girls. Meeting very few species there was both a good and bad thing. Good being no one could make fun of him and laugh, bad because he had no idea where the fuck he was going. After using 5 minutes, he finally found the deans office.
An hour later. . .
Ichiro was almost bubbling that he was accepted to the academy after his first try. Good grades and an IQ of 210 is a useful thing. Thanks to being a human, he was bunked by himself. Something about being different means he needs to be by himself. Ichiro swears that his parents who had a hand in that. He is walking through the halls of the dorms and his dorm is located in the carnivore's dorms. Room 34F. Level F, room 34. As he walks around a corner, he runs into someone, knocking both of them back and both falling on their butts. "Sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going. You ok?" Ichiro says as he looks up.
Sitting down on the floor is a tall, thin grey wolf staring at the tuxedo and red sunglasses-wearing human sitting in front of him. Ichiro stands up and brushes himself off and then holds his hand out for the wolf boy. "Sorry about that. My name's Ichiro Izuki." Ichiro says with a smile, trying to show he was being friendly. The wolf was still sitting on the floor looking up at the hand offered to him. Pink skin, no fur, dull round nails. It looked so weird to the carnivore sitting on the floor. He anxiously reaches foreword and grabs Ichiro's hand. Before he can he stand up, Ichiro pulls and the wolf is almost thrown up into the air from the human's surprising amount of strength. "Woah!" he says as he gains his balance.
"Sorry. Gotta pay attention to my strength." Ichiro says, quickly letting his hand go. "M-my name is Legosi. A. . . are you a student here?" Legosi says looking at Ichiro. "Yeah. I was just accepted today, actually." Ichiro says showing his ID card to Legosi. After looking at the card, he looks up at Ichiro and Ichiro then takes his glasses off to make him see that he wasn't afraid of the wolf. Legosi's eyes went wide as Ichiro's bright blue, almost glowing, eyes locked onto his. "What's. . . What's your dorm room?" Legosi asks, trying to make conversation with the clearly not scared human staring him down. "Room 34F. I am on the right floor, Right?" Ichiro asks. Legosi nods and then says "Yeah. Follow me. Your room is right beside mine." Legosi says, getting used to the rather friendly and talkative Ichiro following him. Legosi is almost a full two heads taller than Ichiro, him being only five foot even.
Ichiro then begin to think he has found a real friend.
