Aizawa sighed in annoyance, stopping in the middle of his lecture to look at the clock mounted to the wall above him. 2:40 the hands pointed to, reminding him that there were only twenty minutes left in the class but the way his students were fidgeting in their seats he knew his words were falling on deaf ears. "Alright guys," his defeated sigh caught their attention immediately. "That's it for today, enjoy your week off," he waved his hand to dismiss them, not even upset when they all jumped out of their seats to pack up.
"Catch you outside Deku!" Ochaco called out to him by the doorway, Tenya, Shoto, and Tsuyu behind her. Izuku smiled and sent a wave back, quickly packing his notebooks and pencil case away into his overflowing yellow backpack before swinging it over his shoulder and walking out of the class. He trailed after his friends a few steps behind as they made their way out of the building and down the path to the dormitories.
"Oi, Nerd!" The sudden call made him pause and turn around, a smile curling on his lips at the approaching blond. "Wait up!" Izuku watched as he nodded to his group of friends as they walked on without him, catching up to his friends that had also stopped to see who was calling for their greenette and pulled their attention away from the two.
"Hi, Kacchan!" He beamed up at the taller one, continuing their walk. "Are you excited for the week?" Izuku asked, a bounce to his step.
Katsuki shrugged, stuffing his hands deep into his pockets as he tore his eyes off of the bubbly boy to focus on the sidewalk in front of them. "Sure," he mumbled, turning his face completely away from Izuku to hide the hint of pink dusting his cheeks when the shorter one flashed him another bright smile. "G-Got-" He cleared his throat. "Got any plans shitty Deku?"
Izuku giggled and shook his head. "Nope!" He slipped his arm through the other strap so his bag sat on both of his shoulders. "I'm staying here," their arms brushed one another's the slightest but enough to send a blush to his face and sweat to his palms. "W-What about you? Any plans?"
Katsuki still couldn't look at him directly, the way the sun reflected off his eyes made his freckles stand out in comparison to his pale skin was just too much for him, so he stuck to staring up at the sky. "M'staying too," a short silence fell around them, pulling them into inner thoughts until they both earned enough courage to speak up again.
"Deku-"
"Kacchan-"
They both chuckled, catching each other's gazes for a second before quickly turning away, faces flushing brightly. "Y-You go," Izuku tucked a green curl behind his ear, semi-aware that Katsuki was watching him.
"Deku, I-" He huffed when a thrill ring interrupted him again. "Forget it," he grumbled, stomping ahead of him and passed their group of friends who looked back at him in confusion. Izuku smiled sheepishly and shrugged, pulling out his ringing phone from his front pocket to check who was calling him.
Mandalay
His smile grew as he clicked the answer button. "Hey, Sosaki!" He greeted cheerfully, matching his pace with Tsuyu who lagged behind to walk next to him.
"Hello Midoriya!" Sosaki laughed. "I heard you're getting the week off of school?"
"Yup!"
"Awesome! You guys deserve it," there was a small pause and some rustling as Sosaki got comfortable in her chair at the kitchen table. "I hate to ask Midoriya but I need a favor,"
"What is it Sosaki?" Izuku sat on the steps leading up to the dormitory, waving Tsuyu and the rest of his friends to go on inside without him. "Everything okay?"
"Well..." Her pitch rose an octave as she dragged out the word. "I mean, yeah, everything's fine but it's just-" another pause as the woman sighs heavily, almost tiredly. "Pussycats' have a mission and I need someone to watch Kota,"
Izuku tilted his head to the side. "You want me to watch him?"
"If you can?" another tired sigh. "I've called and asked all my go-to babysitters, but they all seem to be busy; you're kinda my last hope," Sosaki chuckled almost dryly.
Izuku nodded and looked behind him to the dormitory that seemed to shake with the racket going on inside, shouts, explosions, and laughter drifted out into the quiet campus. "I'd love to watch Kota," he smiled, turning back around to face the darkening sky. "I think he'll have a blast here for the week,"
Sosaki slumped in her seat as relief washed over her. "Thank you so much Midoriya!" a wide grin gracing her features. "You're honestly the best," Izuku laughed along with her. "I'll be there in the morning to drop him off,"
"Okay! I can't wait to see him!"
Sosaki giggled again. "Thank you! We'll see you tomorrow, goodnight."
"Goodnight!" He chirped back before ending the call and stood up to go inside, the noise becoming ten folds. Izuku shook his head in amusement, slipping off his red shoes in favor of his house slippers then shuffled over to the common room and flopped down on the couch between Shoto and Denki.
"Hey!" The electric blond cheered, wrapping an arm around his waist and pulled him closer. "How's my favorite piece of broccoli?"
Izuku rolled his eyes with a giggle and rested his head on his shoulder. "Great actually, Kota is coming over for the week!"
"Is that what the phone call was about?" Shoto asked, picking up his legs and setting them in his lap, so he was sprawled over the two of them.
"Yeah!" He exclaimed excitedly, his head now in Denki's lap as the older combed his fingers through his hair, being mindful of the knots and tangles. "We're gonna have a lot of fun!"
