"Head, it's time to wake up," A familiar voice shakes you awake."A bit more," You muttered sleepily." I can't wake up early three days in a row Kaeya."
"Head, shall I tell the prince that our Head is too busy getting their beauty rest that they cannot attend the prince's meeting?" Kaeya's voice laced with sarcasm." I doubt the king would be happy."
"You're so interested in pleasing the king." You opened your eyes and glanced sleepily at him." don't tell me you've already buckled and given in."
Kaeya placed a hand on your cheeks before lifting your face to face him." I think you have mistaken me Head. I have too much anger for him and you to let it go. Should I remind you that I had personally watched my people die, my kingdom reduced to nothing but ashes?"
You smiled and placed your hand on your cheeks overlapping his." Good, don't forget it Kaeya. I'll look forward to seeing you succeed."
Kaeya's eyes widen a bit in surprise before his lips curved into a soft mischievous smile" Perhaps I should spare my beloved master? Should I? Head?"
"Perhaps," your lips pursed into a small smile." But then again, wouldn't you be afraid I'll do what you did?"
"Then I'll just lock you up, take away all the freedom you have. You'll fit fine as a doll in a cage, Head."
"Now, now, before you speak of it show me." You smiled cocking your head to the side." Let's not have the prince wait too long, call in the maids."
"Yes, Head." Kaeya bowed his head and exited the room leaving you alone.
It's been a month since he was here, a month since you overtook as the Head. Fancy title, yet it came with a huge responsibility. You stretched your arms up, yawning a bit before stepping off the bed. Admiring the light that basks your room, filling up every dark corner.
"Head," The maid said opening the door and closing it behind her." Lord, Kaeya had picked an outfit for you."
"Very well." Your lips curved up a small smile as the maids begin to work around you. removing your nightshirt and helping you dress in a simple yet elegant outfit. They combed out the stiffness in your hair and styled it nicely.
The prince must've been dealing with the new business that you'd created, a new brand of tea. It's quite popular among the noble yet affordable to the commoners as well, of course, it was. With your skills and knowledge about brewing tea and choosing the right flower, plants and combining them was as easy as counting up to ten. The aristocrat had always complained about it though, that such high-quality tea should be reserved for the wealthy and nobles, a bunch of self-centred bastards.
And then there's Kaeya, the former prince of Khaenri'ah now reduced to nothing but a servant of the Arcadia's Head. You hated the war, the very one that took your father's life as he fought for the foolish king's greed, and in honour of your father's death the king has given you the prince and a generous amount of money enough for a family of five to live for two lifetimes. Money and a servant, you didn't want either of those, all you had wanted was for the war to stop and it finally did at the cost of your father and Kaeya's kingdom.
"Head?" Kaeya's voice interrupted your trail of thoughts." The prince is waiting."
"of course," You smiled softly before taking Kaeya's arm.
"This custom is troublesome," He muttered frowning slightly.
You frowned a bit and wrinkled your nose."Khaenhrians don't do this?"
"They do, however escorting someone by the arm is reserved for lovers." He frowned again and glanced at you as if to see if his words had offended you in any way, after all a relationship between a servant and master is a disgrace to the master's name and yet he had dared speak of it? Not only was his position a servant but also a captured prince.
