"I wish Alby could've seen all this", he whispered, staring over the small camp. "And Winston", I whispered. "He'd be proud of you, you know, Tommy. And Jules, he would be happy that you guys figured out a way to get us here." "Yeah", I said, smiling at the ground. "I miss him", Chuck said sadly. "I know Chuckie. We all do. But he's in a better place now. Hopefully." Everyone smiled and I was happy I lightened the mood a bit. "Hey, Aris!", Frypan shouted down to Aris who sat on a log next to Sonya and Harriet by the fire. "Hey, guys!", he responded loudly, waving up to us. I smiled at him. "I kinda like that kid", Fry told us. "yea he's a good kid", I smiled as I watched him and Sonya shoving each other. "Yeah. I still don't trust him, though", Minho responded, causing us all to laugh. Chuck coughed a bit and I hugged him closer to keep him warm. "Hey, where's Teresa?", I asked, finally noticing that she wasn't with us. "She went up there", Minho said, pointing up to the mountain where I could make out a distant silhouette of her. I nodded and went to get up. "Keep Chuck warm Newt. He's cold and we don't want him getting sick", I told him, flashing him a goofy grin. "of course", he responded, smiling back at me. As I made my way up the mountain toward Teresa, I remembered something.

FLASHBACK

"Thomas stop!", I squeaked. "or what?", he asked playfully. "or i'll rip your head off using nothing but my hands?" "mhm you would never", he said, continuing to tickle me. "Thomas...we're...gonna...get...in trouble", I breathed out. He spun me around and pushed me against the wall, his hands resting above my head. "you're absolutely beautiful", he whispered. "not too bad yourself Tommy." He leaned in, our lips about to meet before Teresa walked in. I quickly pushed him away and leaned against the wall in an attempt to act like we weren't doing anything. "uhh whatcha doing?", she asked. "hmm...oh nothing we were just uh ya know... working! Yea working...that's what we do everyday isn't it?", I said. She giggled, shaking her head.

1 week later (btw this is before Chuck was sent up)

"Jules can you sing me a song?", Chuck asked from his bed. "uhh...I guess so. What song do you want me to sing Chuckie?" "what was the one mom used to sing? The one from that old 70s movie?" " I don't remember...that could be a few songs. Do you remember any of the words?", I asked. "I remember it saying there is no where to hide since you pushed my love aside..." "ohhh that one. I can sing you that." I sat at the end of his bed, brushing a curl out of his face. "Guess mine is not the first heart broken. My eyes are not the first to cry. I'm not the first to know there's just no getting over you.  I know I'm just a fool who's willing to sit around and wait for you
But baby, can't you see there's nothing else for me to do? I'm hopelessly devoted to you. But now there's nowhere to hide since you pushed my love aside", I sang to Chuck, so into it I didn't even notice that Thomas walked in. "I'm out of my head hopelessly devoted to you. Hopelessly devoted to you. Hopelessly devoted to you. My head is sayin', 'Fool, forget him'.  My heart is sayin', 'Don't let go'. Hold on...", I finished. There was clapping on the other side of the room, breaking me from the trance I was in. I kissed Chuck's head before getting up and pushing Thomas out the door and into the hall. "what are you doing!", I whisper shouted. "listening to your beautiful voice." I rolled my eyes, trying to hide how flustered I really was. "hopelessly devoted to you", Thomas whispered. I giggled, slapping his arm playfully before giving him a kiss on the cheek and heading to bed. "night lover boy", I grinned. "night angel."

END OF FLASHBACK

"Hey, you okay?", I asked her, not even noticing that Thomas had followed me until he spoke from behind me. "What are you doing up here?" I almost screamed but instead I jumped back and let out a sigh when I saw it was Thomas. "Just thinking", she responded, still staring over the trees below and the beautiful sunset which looked almost too pretty for this world. "All right, we'll let you be alone", I said, motioning for Thomas to follow me. "Do you remember your mother?", Teresa asked, turning to face us. "yea I remember a few things..." "I think so", Thomas said. "I remember mine. She was a beautiful woman. Everybody loved her. And before WICKED, she was all I had. When she got sick, I didn't know what to do. I just kept her locked up. Hidden. I thought she'd get better. Every night, she'd make these awful sounds, like screaming. And then, one night, she just stopped. She was finally quiet. I went down to her room. And there was blood everywhere . But she was just sat there, calm. She said she was feeling better. The visions were gone. She'd taken care of them. She took her eyes out. There are millions of people suffering out there. Millions of stories, just like mine. We can't turn our backs on them. I won't", she told us. "What are you saying?", I asked. "I'm saying, I want you guys to understand", she said. "Understand what?", Thomas questioned. "Why I did it." There was light in the distance and the distant sound of helicopters. "Teresa..", Thomas started. "Please don't fight them, Thomas", she said, looking toward the helicopters which were getting closer and closer each minute. "What have you done?", I asked her, absolutely afraid. "What have you done?," I asked again, running to go warn the others, Thomas following behind. We ran down the mountain and made our way toward the camp, trying to get there faster than the helicopter, but it came right behind us and a missile was fired right at the camp. "No!", Thomas shouted as it blew up the camp. More missiles were shot as the camp burst into flames. People ran around and all Thomas and I did was stare in complete shock and fear. Then I realized...Chuck and our friends. We can't lose them. I began to run toward the camp but Thomas grabbed my wrist. "where are you going?", he asked, fear written on his face. "our friends we need to help them. We can't lose them. I can't lose them. they're my family. And I promised Chuck. I promised him he would be ok. I promised!", I cried, tears spilling from my eyes. He pulled me into his chest. "baby you need to breathe. you're gonna have a panic attack please breathe." I did as he said but I still couldn't breathe. I pulled away and breathed heavily, my whole body going cold. I began trembling and though I was freezing, sweat dripped from my forehead. My heart was beating rapidly, my hands shook uncontrollably, tears were falling like a waterfall and I kept choking. I couldn't breathe and it felt like I was slowly dying. All the screams and noises from below were drowned out by the loud sound of my heartbeat in my ears. I tried to breathe but it just made it worse. Thomas looked afraid and he pulled me into him, kissing my lips just as he did the last time I had a bad panic attack. "ok come on. You ok?" "mhm but we have to help them. I don't care whether I can't breathe or not. They need our help. i'm willing to risk my life if it means saving theirs", I said before turning and running toward a burning tent...the tent that Brenda was in. Thomas was right behind me and seemed to realize why I looked so shocked. "Brenda!"  I called out. No response. "Thomas i'm going in", I told him. Before he could stop me, someone else's hand grabbed me by my jacket and pulled me back. I was faced by Brenda. "You dumbass", she said. "Come on! Are you two trying to get yourself killed? We gotta take cover! We have to go. Now, while we still have the chance", she finished, grabbing my hands and trying to drag me and Thomas with her. "We gotta go find the others", I told her, breaking free from her grip and turning the other way. "No! Look! Look. You can't help them", she told us. "Like I told Thomas... I'm willing to risk my life for theirs. If you got a problem, fuck off and don't help. But i'm not letting them die out here because they're all that I have left", I told her. Jorge came and began telling us what to do. "I'm sorry. There's just nothing you can do for them. If we don't move now, we won't be much better off", Jorge told us. "You guys gotta go right now", I said. "What?", he asked, genuinely confused at my statement. "They're not looking for you. You'll be safe, but you have to go now", Thomas explained. "Thomas...", Brenda began. " We can't leave without them. Go", I told them. "Good luck, kids.  Bren, we have to go. Come on. Come on", Jorge told Brenda. "Line them up right here! On their knees!", Someone shouted. We saw all the kids, including our friends over by one of the helicopter things. "Put some eyes up on that ridge. B-4." We began getting closer, just so we could hear. "How many did we get?", Ava Paige asked. "All of them. Give or take", Janson told her. "Give or take what?" "Well, they lost a few. A-4. A-6. B-3." "Where's Thomas and Julianna?" "Right here", I said, walking cautiously toward them. "Freeze! Go!" "Thomas. Jules. Get them in line." "Okay. Bring her in." They pushed us to the ground and right next to our friends. "Why didn't you guys run?", Minho asked. "we're tired of running." "Is this all of them?", Ava Paige asked. "Most of them. It'll be enough." "Start loading them in." "Yes, ma'am. Okay, you heard. Let's go!Get 'em on!" They pushed Thomas and I toward Ava Paige and she smiled at us. That disgusting evil smile. "Hello, Thomas and Julianna." We stared at her as I looked up to see them push some kids onto the helicopters. Teresa was pushed toward Ava Paige and my eyes widened. "I'm glad you're safe", she said to Teresa. "What the hell?", Minho said as they all stood up. "Teresa?", Fry questioned. "Wait, what's going on?", Newt asked. "She's with them", I told them, not breaking my gaze on Teresa. "Since when?", Chuck asked. "Teresa's always had an evolved appreciation of the greater good. Once we restored her memories, it was only a matter of time", Janson said, coming up from behind them. "I'm sorry. I had no choice. This is the only way. We have to find a cure", Teresa said. I shook my head in pure disbelief. How could she turn on us like this? How could she turn on her friends ? "She's right. This is all just a means to an end. You used to understand that, Thomas. And Julianna you said you wouldn't stop until you could cure every last person.  No matter what you think of me...I am not a monster. I'm a doctor. I swore an oath to find a cure! No matter the cost. I just need more time", She told us. "More blood", A voice said from behind us causing us all to turn and see Mary. "Hello, Mary. I hoped we'd meet again. I'm sorry it had to be under these circumstances", Ava said as if she really cared. "I'm sorry about a lot of things, too.But not this. At least my conscience is clear", Mary fired back. "So is mine", she whispered as a gunshot rang through the open field. Everyone jumped back a bit as Mary's eyes widened. Blood was spreading over her shirt from her stomach as we all looked at the blood, completely shocked. "Mary? Mary? Mary! Mary! Mary! Get off me!", Vince shouted. He broke free from the guards grip and kneeled down as Mary fell into his arms. Mary? Mary? Mary? Mary? No! Mary! No!", Vince continued shouting. Tears fell down my face but I looked to Janson who held the gun in his hands. That stupid ugly rat man I hope he dies a slow and painful death. Teresa looked at us in fear as I shook my head at her in disbelief. 'how could you' I mouthed to her, more tears slipping from my brown eyes. "Come on, Janson. Load them up. Let's go. All these people. Get rid of them. Let's go. Let's go", Ava Paige said as she began walking away. "Let go of me!", Vince said as he struggled in the guards grip. "Sonya! Aris!", Harriet shouted as the blonde girl was dragged away with the brunette (is he a brunette idk  haha his hair is like...light brown)boy. Thomas looked at me, his hand in his jacket and I knew exactly what he was gonna do. Guards went to grab us but I elbowed one in the face and kicked the other in the leg. Thomas pulled out the grenade and shouted at everyone. "Get back! Everyone, stand back! Stand back!" "Hold your fire!", Janson told the guards "Everyone, stand back!", Thomas repeated. "Hold your fire!" "Stand back. Let 'em go." "Thomas, put it down", Janson told him, cautiously getting closer. "Let 'em all go!", I told them. "You know I can't do that!", Ava Paige countered. "Thomas, please stop. I made a deal with them. They promised we'd be safe. All of us", Teresa said, moving forward. "And we're supposed to trust you now?", I asked. "It's true. It was her only condition." "Shut up!" "Everything can go back to the way it was. Thomas... do you really want all of them to die?", Ava Paige asked, trying to manipulate us. "Listen to her, Thomas. Think about what you're doing." The boys all came up to us and Chuck grabbed my hand. "We're with you, Thomas", Newt spoke. "No", Teresa whispered, so quietly it was almost not noticeable. "Don't". "Do it, Thomas", I told him. "We're ready", Frypan agreed. "We're not going back there", Thomas told them. "Thomas?" "It's the only way", he told Ava Paige. Thomas was about to press the trigger his finger seconds away from blowing everyone up. "Thomas!" A loud horn stopped Thomas from hitting the button as a truck made its way toward us. The guards shot at the truck but it kept going, hitting into one of the helicopters. It almost hit us but we fell to the floor before it could. "Come on. Come on! Get her out of here!", Janson shouted, pushing Ava Paige and Teresa toward a helicopter. "Freeze! Drop it, kid!", some guard shouted. I grinned and grabbed the bomb from Thomas, mouthing 3, 2 1. When I said 1 I threw the bomb and Thomas warned everyone else as we ran. "Run! Get down!" We fell to the floor together, holding our hands over our ears as the bomb seemingly went off. When the smoke cleared, Thomas and I looked at the smoke, covering the air above. Just as we were about to get up, a foot planted itself on Thomas's shoulder. I jumped up and went to grab one of the guns Janson held but he grabbed my arm and held me in a chokehold. "What a waste", Janson sneered, pointing a gun by my head and one at Thomas who laid on the floor. My breath caught in my throat and I closed my eyes in fear. Before he could pull the trigger however, a gunshot hit him in the shoulder, causing him to stumble back and let me go as well as release Thomas. Brenda held a gun and smiled. I helped Thomas up, giving her a smile in appreciation before we ran off and away from Janson who went to get up. More shots were heard as we ran. Then there was a bunch of shots but we kept going, dodging as many as we could. "Get outta here! Go! Go! Come on, Thomas! Get outta here, Jules!",Minho shouted, shooting at anyone who shot at us. "Minho, let's go!", I responded. "Get out of here! Go!" Thomas grabbed my wrist as Newt practically dragged us to hide behind a crate. "Get down!", he said, pulling my jacket. One of the guards shot Minho with a taser gun, sending shocks through his body and ultimately knocking him down. "Minho! Minho! Come back!", I shouted, going to run after him. Thomas followed me, shouting as well. "Thomas, get back!" "No! Thomas, no!"  "Jules don't go there!" "Minho!", I continued screaming out his name. "Thomas! Jules!" "Minho!" "Go! Come on!" "Minho!", I cried, as they took him away and Jorge dragged me and Thomas away. "please! I can't lose him please Jorge let me go!" Now I was crying my eyes out, clawing at Jorge, trying to move past him as he pushed me up the hill and toward the truck. There were gunshots and loud helicopter sounds. We stood at the top of the hill staring as the biggest helicopter like thing (I still have no idea what it's called) was about to take off. I could faintly see Teresa. How could she? Tears streamed down my face as I silently sobbed, choking on my own tears. It flew up into the distance and away from the burning and damaged camp.

TIME SKIP: next morning

"What do we do now?", Chuck asked, breaking the devastating silence. "Well, we pick up what's left of us. We stick to the plan. We get you kids to the safe haven. Then we start over, I guess", Vince concluded. I shook my head, standing up and putting my bag over my shoulders. "I'm not going with you", Thomas said and I nodded in agreement. "We can't." "What?" "We made a promise to Minho. We wouldn't leave him behind. We have to go after him", I answered. "Hey, kid, look around you. All right? WICKED just kicked our ass. You think about where you're headed", Vince told me. "We're not asking anyone to come with us", Thomas shrugged. "Thomas, Jules,  listen to me. I've known Minho for... Well, as long as I can remember. So, if there was any way that we could help him... trust me, I would be up there standing next to you guys. This, what you're talking about... is impossible", Newt told us. "More like suicide", Jorge added. "Maybe. But we know what we're supposed to do now. It's not just about Minho. It's about all of us. It's about everyone WICKED's ever taken, everyone they will take. They'll never stop. They'll never stop, so we're gonna stop them. Me and Thomas are gonna kill Ava Paige.",I made it clear. "I have to admit... I'd like some revenge", Harriet chimed in. "Well, that's a good speech, kids. So, what's your plan?", Vince asked. All eyes were on us as I looked at Thomas and smiled before looking back at everyone.
