Late night drive

the soft buzz of the car and gentle bump every so often of the road sends sapnap onto a tired state; his eyes struggling to stay open. the sound of glaive playing in the background fills him with such content.

"you're surely not falling asleep on me are you nick?" karl asks loudly. sapnaps eyes flash open and he sits up quickly. he chuckles and shakes his head at karl.
"where are we even going?"

"supermarket! gonna grab some snacks." karl sends sapnap a careful smirk, he chuckles when sapnap drops his head to hide his flushed cheeks.

karl having power over sapnap made him feel giddy, he felt like he could do anything. the idea of making sapnap flustered filled karl with butterflies. but in the back of his head, the idea of sapnap grabbing him by the throat and pushing him as hard as he could into a bed sounded just as good. more so even...

"what would you like?" karl asks as they pull into a parking lot, his hands resting in his lap fidgeting as he couldn't control his excitement for later in the evening. he had... certain plans.

"i'm coming in with you bro, i cannot trust you to make snack choices." sapnap jumps out of the car alongside karl. they walk into the supermarket, the contrast of neon led lights and pure midnight darkness made karl squint in pain.

the two make there way though each snack aisle with a trolley, throwing anything that looked rainbow, sugary and unhealthy. sapnap had gotten used to eating healthy meals everyday back home with dream, so all he wanted now was straight sugar.

"that'll be 42.50 sir." the cashier says as he packs all the sugary snacks into bags. karl shoves sapnap slightly out of the way to make sure he can pay. sapnap responds with a chuckle.

they walk slowly together back to karl's tesla, swinging their bags as they spoke about how small they were compared to the universe. karl turns on the heating as soon as they get back into the car, he opens up a packet of twinkies and takes one out to eat.

sapnap giggles at karl's attempt to eat his twinkie as he drives, he spills crumbs all over his lap and floor. tomorrow karl will deal with that...

sapnap sits contently in his seat, staring at karl. his perfect puffy hair and slight eye bags filled sapnap with warmth. karl looks around the road to make an illegal turn and bites his lip as he turns. sapnap blushes and looks away to hide his cheeks.

"you right nick?" karl asks genuinely, sapnap replies with a quiet "yep" and a nod. karl giggles and places the hand not in the steering wheel on sapnaps thigh; rubbing it slightly. sapnap malfunctions and simply stares at the olders hands.

"is this okay?" sapnap places his hand on top of karl's to say yes. karl replies with a loving smile and gentle chuckle. they drive in a comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company. sapnap falling asleep slowly yet again.

when they arrive back home, karl runs around energetically waking sapnap up fully. he stuffs his face with candy to make himself less tired. they run together into karl's room, as it was the furthest from where sean was currently asleep.

they take a seat on karl's bed and spread all the candy they had collected around, taking bites experimentally at things neither of them had tried. karl throws a packet of candy at sapnap, they sit cross legged across from each other. they giggle constantly and chuck stupid and idiotic jokes into their conversation, only fuelling their laughing fit.

"you've never had a movie date?" karl's asks with a huge grin, ready to make fun of sapnap, as their conversation slows down. "no of course not, they are so dumb! how are you supposed to get to know your date if your watching a stupid movie the whole time?"
