"Why don't we get some snacks? I'll pay." Reki hummed, slowing down to skate next to Langas' side. He seemed back to normal but that didn't keep Langa from worrying or constantly checking up on him throughout their time together.
Langa stared up ahead for a few seconds, taking in the familiar buildings ahead of them before glancing back at his friend. "Sure, Ill pay though."
"You payed last time. I have to make up for it somehow." Reki argued, crossing his arms over his chest. "Im paying." Langa repeated, kicking up his board and waited for Reki to do the same.
The redhead just sighed, holding his board in one hand and rubbing the back of his neck with the other. "Youre so stubborn." He opened the stores door, hearing a small chime over top. "I'm aware."
There was one specific store they would stop by for snacks, especially on sleepover days. Reki would always refer to it as 'their' store. It wasnt that much different from a small convenient shop but it had one isle that Langa was always dragged down.
An isle filled with Canadian and American snacks. Treats from all around the world. They sorta agreed to picking out one new snack to try every time they came. Last time Reki chose Ketchup chips. He didnt seem to care for them.
"What are you thinking bout getting this time, Reki?" Langa asked curiously as he ran his fingers across a label on a chip bag. "Mmm, I'm not too sure yet. Maybe something sweet?"
Langa caught up with Reki who was already half-way down the isle. Reki moved quickly while he liked to take his time to look over things. "Oh!" Reki suddenly exclaimed, grabbing Langas arm and pulling him over to an interesting looking snack. "Have you tried those before?"
Reki wanted to get something they've both never tried before. He pointed to a small box of maple creme cookies. Surprisingly he hasn't. Even though he lived in Canada, practically known for maple syrup among other things, he didn't have a lot of it growing up.
"No, do you want to try them?" Langa grabbed the box, already putting into the shopping basket. "Well, youre already putting them into the basket so my answer is yes."
Reki continued to hold onto Langas arm, leading him down isles and ranting about a few things here and there. Normal things he did. Langa studied the boys small gestures and mannerisms. He found a lot of things he did cute. Especially how much Reki loved physical touch and often held onto him or slung an arm around his shoulder.
A lot of things that Langa did went noticed by Reki, too. He always found the way Langa fidgeted with his fingers and was always pushing some hair behind his ears to keep it out of his face, absolutely adorable. Reki would always say whats on his mind at the time, making it hard for him to keep feelings he didnt want to express down, so Langa already knew he found those things cute.
Which is why he kept doing it.
"Thank you, Langa. Now I have to buy you dinner sometime to repay all of this." Reki helped carry some bags. There were only two and they hadnt had the time to stuff it into their bags so they just carried it for now.
Langa looked at the redhead for a moment, a small smile spreading across his face. "Reki, is that your way of asking me on a date?"
"What?!" Reki panicked, turning almost as bright as his hair was. He did word it a little like that, didnt he? Well, he wasnt exactly gonna deny it. He's done it a few times without making it clear. After watching beef he would take Langa to the small ramen shop near his house.
He never thought much of it.
"Woah, I was only joking-" Langa laughed to himself, swinging one of the bags. "I gotta stop by the hospital if you dont mind. I told my mom I would say hi." He quickly changed the subject, getting a little flustered himself. They were already nearing the tall, white building.
