After me and Maria got done talking I went back inside my room. I just hoped my bestfriend was gone be straight she been through alot and now she done got kicked out her house. I know my mom is more than welcome to letting her stay but not for long I know how she is.
I locked my door and pulled out a blunt , I started to roll up and than lit up. I don't know why I keep smoking but I been doing it since I was 14 , It helps me and I know it ain't good for my body but fuck it.
I had inhaled and than blew out some smoke. I called my homeboy Osiris and wanted to know what he was on tonight. It was a weekend and it was night time I knew he had some going on.
"Aye bro what you on tonight?" I asked
"Shid nothing , I do got this lil party I'm trynna go to though .. It's Jha'nias you know my ex? The one with the fat as-" He said and I cut him off
"Yeah yeah I know .. Alright Imma slide through then , I can bring Maria right? I just want her to do something .. Get shit off her mind she been going through a lot lately." I told him
"You know she always welcome , I wonder why you ain't hit that yet .. She bad as hell" Before he could finish I just hung up the phone , put the blunt down on a tray and sighed.
I don't really got feelings for my bestfriend I never seen her that way ever , I just think it's weird how everybody assume just cause you bestfriends with somebody y'all fucking or talking. She like my dawg all in honestly.
I unlocked my door and I left out my room and went inside the living room.
"Maria you tryn go to this party tonight? I know you don't never get out often I just wanna take you , You gone be safe with me the whole night imma be sure." I asked her
"Yeah sure I don't mind , and you smell like straight weed I can see it in ya eyes that you high." She said rolling her eyes
"Aye chilll , but my momma don't care if we get out. Just go put on something to wear and we can leave aight?"
"Mkay." She replied getting up going to the bathroom.
She was so pretty , but knowing anybody or better yet my ex would have a fit if I even started dating my bestfriend. She already never liked her when we was together , which lasted for a year because of her jealously. Honestly nobody saw us as the friends with benefits ion know why she was mad. Plus I'm not dropping my bestfriend of 3 years for you.
MARIA POV.
5 minutes later .
As I was getting ready in the bathroom , I didn't even dress up. I slipped on some quick and did my edges. I left out and he was already ready.
"Come on" he nodded and went to the door and I followed him , He grabbed his keys off the table and we had left.
As we was in the car I was just tapping on my phone. I was trying to get in touch with my dad to see if he was available, he was probably asleep which I didn't mind. I just hope he answer my text in the morning.
While we was driving I looked in my camera roll and saw some old photos of me and caden and we really had a glow up.
We was at a red light right now and I showed him the picture.
"You remember this?" I held the phone up to his face and he squinted and laughed.
"Of course" He said looking away and keeping his eye on the road. It was a photo of us at the beach with our moms. I didn't even wanna look at my damn mother I hated that bitch so much.
After about 10 minutes we arrived to the air bnb where his friend was hosting the party atleast I thought.
We walked in and it was about 50 people there already max and the party had just started. 50 don't seem like a lot but it was for a party that started 8 minutes ago.
"Aye waddup!" Some dude walked over to me and Caden. I noticed it was his friend Osiris. I never liked him he was always disrespectful towards everybody , but I understand him and Caden been friends since middle school so I couldn't control that.
"You not gone speak to my bestfriend?" Caden said.
"Oh yeah yeah .. hey Maria , you can go over there with the girls , Jha'nia. I'm tired of you lollygagging with my bro all the time to make friends." Osiris spoke to me.
"Yeah no thank you , I'm gonna be by his side all night. I barely know half the folks in here and i'm not getting lost." I replied and he huffed and walked away.
40 minutes later.
I can say I was kind of having fun , I eventually went over to the girls and left Caden. They was cool honestly and not boujee , ain need time for that. I was enjoying myself on the happy end.
But then all of a sudden I heard a gun shot. Ion think anybody else heard it because the music was too loud , but then another shot had popped off and one person started screaming and the other did. Oh they was right when they said the party don't end until somebody start shooting.
I was honestly scared , I was looking for Caden but I couldn't find him then I saw him, I mean I could spot him anywhere because he was tall. I guess he was looking for me also because then I ran to him and he grabbed my hand and we started running out with the crowd.
More gunshots started to alarm and then I saw bodies dropping to the floor. I was honestly shocked and kind of scared , I've never seen a dead or injured body before in real life. I then saw Caden pull out something from his pocket and looked back dropping me on the floor starting to shoot back at the shooters along with Osiris and he put his gun back.
"Mane get off the fucking floor and come on!" He yelled at me and I got up as I should and we hopped inside of his car.
We had immediately drove off .. well not immediately drove off cause we stopped at a empty parking lot.
"You good?" He said while trying to catch his breath.
"Yes Caden I'm fine .. If you know there was going to be shooting why you brought me?" I asked
"I ain't know shit , don't even do that. Osiris dumbass invited me here. His ex was probably trying to set him up and brought her current nigga here. I don't know why this dumbass still trust that weirdo ass bitch"
"Okay calm down alright? I said while my hand was on his leg.
"I am calm it's just stupid , I ain't putting you in no more danger , I'm sorry." He stated.
"Caden it's fine , we fine that's all what matters .. Now start driving I wanna lay down." I replied and he nodded.
