In the cold night air of the small Forest in Ferrisburgh, I sat perched on a branch of a high tree in the forest. I peered up at the moon, its silver light shining down on me, filling me with a strange bliss. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, the cool night air cleansing away my worries and fears, if only for a brief moment.
But sadly, that brief moment of bliss was broken by a sudden snap of a twig below the tree where I sat. Startled, my eyes shot open. I looked down, guard back up, below the tree to see who was there.
Peering through the leaves, I spotted a dark figure standing below. I watched as the figure sat down, leaning against the tree. Then, the figure spoke. "Rose." It said. By the tone of voice, I could tell it was a boy.
Which is odd, considering who the hell just shows up in the middle of the night and somehow knows your name?
Confused and now curious, I silently and carfuly lept to the next branch over, hoping to get a closer look. Luckily, he didn't seem to hear me as I launched myself to the branch, making it shake on impact.
Now at a better view, I peered through the leaves and looked down at the mysterious figure. I watched as the figure turned its head in the oppostite direction, as if expecting to see something.
Suddenly, another figure made its way towards us, but this one seemed different.
Instead of taking steps, it seemed to float over, very fast. It was almost as if it was after something. I shook my head. No, I thought. This..this can't be real...I'm just seeing things. If only that had been true. That would've made the next part so much easier to deal with.
In a dark blur, the second figure launched itself at the tree. I almost screamed, but even in my situation, I knew that would probably have gotten me killed. The impact had shaken the branch violently, making me almost fall. I held on to the branch for dear life, as I watched the figure ready itself for another strike.
The creepy stalker boy tried to stop it from attacking again, but the figure pushed him down with great force. It reared forward, slamming into the tree again, and in one horrifying moment, I lost my grip and began to fall.
I closed my eyes, preparing for impact, and quite possibly death. But to my surprise, I hadn't hit anything. Confused, I opened my eyes to see that the creepy dude was holding me. He had caught me.
He looked down at me with deep green eyes ;eyes that almost gave me déjà vu. His hair was a bit messy and uneven, his bangs covering the right side of his face. His hair was a pitch black mess.
His expression was concerned, but a hint of excitement danced in his eyes. For a moment, our eyes met. Time seemed to stand still, as if i were frozen in time, as if looking back on a memory.
Suddenly, I came crashing back down to reality again as the creature from before began to hurtle towards us, claws extended. The boy looked at the creature, then quickly back at me. He jumped to the side, still holding me in his arms, then he placed me upright against the trunk of an oak tree.
Standing in front of me, his gaze focused on me, he gave me direction. "Don't move. I'll take care of this." He said. Although it was meant to be an order, his voice was soft and calm. Normally, when someone tells me to do something, I don't listen. But his voice was so urgent and a bit scary, that I decided to obey.
He stood in front of me, now facing the creature. It hissed at him and bared its teeth. The boy reached onto his jacket and pulled out a sword, which glowed silver in the moonlight. This...this can't be real.. I thought.
Before I could process what was happening, the boy lunged at the creature, swinging his sword in hand and giving a large gash on the creatures upper shoulder. With a loud shriek, it fell to the ground in pain.
Then, in an instant, it evaporates into nothingness. I just sat there, staring at the spot on the ground where the creature once stood. The boy turned and looked at me. His jet black bangs swept across his forehead, he locked eyes with me.
With his intense green eyes fixed on me, it sent a shock through my body. The longer he looked into my eyes, the harder it was to look away. Something about his gaze felt...strange. Almost familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then, he offered his hand for me to grab.
Hesitantly, I placed my hand in his, letting him pull me back on my feet. For a moment, as soon as his hand held mine, I felt something. The feeling of his hand on mine, made me feel, for just a moment; like I was getting some serious déjà vu.
Suddenly, my knees gave out beneith me, causing me to fall back to the ground. Just as the boys face began to fill with worry, the world around me went black.
Then, I woke up.
