But not only that, it made me realise that love does exist even though you might think it is too late for love. First let me introduce myself before I tell you my whole story. I'm Daniëlle, a 19 years old dutch girl who loves racing. That's all you need to know for now. Let's start the story from the beginning.
A few years ago I decided to write a letter to a special someone. You actually might know him. He is a not so tall but handsome and very adorable F1 driver. Yes you thought about the right one, it is indeed Lando Norris. I wrote a letter where I just summed up some of my thoughts and at first it was not my intention to send it, because that would be very awkward you know. But one of my friends who knew i wrote that letter thought it was a great idea to send it to him. That is the moment my whole life changed.
It was a Monday in may 2021. I wasn't feeling great and was really struggling with my own thoughts. My mother always advised me that if i was really in my head it would help to write it down. But i wasn't thinking about school or some decisions i made or something like that, i was thinking about that really cute formula 1 driver. However, I followed my mothers advice and started writing. While I was writing it made me feel so calm and it made me realise that I was way more into him than I thought.

I also like to play the guitar and the piano and I love to sing. I also love to bake, draw and paint. Just in general doing something creative. I like golfing, darting, and football (or as some would like to call it 'soccer') not that I'm any good at it, but that doesnt matter. I also love animals and that is part of the reason I'm studying animal management.
Alrighty, enough about me. Let's go back to the purpose of this brilliantly written letter. I wanted to write this for a long time but couldn't find the courage to just put something on paper. But i have good news! I FOUND IT! So let's start with the things I like about you. You might think this is only about those gorgeous eyes, or that contagious smile but its way more than that.
Let's start with your passion for racing. It is so inspiring to see you work so hard to achieve your goals. It motivates me to do the same. Your positivity and happiness makes my bad days way better. Your sometimes foolishness and 'stupid' actions can make me smile so bad. As a Dutchie it's so adorable to see you attempting to speak dutch. I have to say, I'm impressed! I would love to teach you some more Dutch words. Such as 'prutser' which is actually a dutch word for, as you would say, 'muppet'. It is what I call you when I see you do something ridiculous.
However, to make this not too long, I will sum everything up in one sentence. You, mister Lando Norris, are an amazing, adorable, funny, happy, kind, lovely and positive guy. (Did you see, i summed it up in alphabetical order ;)) I wish you all the best for always and forever!
That same evening I was talking to a friend on the phone. I told her I wasn't feeling great and that I wrote a letter. She begged me to read it to her, and so I did. But without mentioning a name. She said that it was really adorable and that I should send it to the person. I was like yeah maybe, but i don't know where i should send it to. Then we put it aside and didn't talk about it for a while. A week later she came to my house to spend a weekend and just have fun. While I was at the grocery store she was wandering through my room and saw the letter that I had written. She grabbed it and saw who it was written to. She took it and did some research about where to send it, and so she did. A day after she sent it I realised it was gone. I called her up and asked if she saw it. She denied and said she didn't see it. I was completely freaked out. What if my parents had found it or what if it just flew out of my window and it is somewhere on the streets where everyone can find it and read it. The whole day I couldn't think about anything else. A week flew by and I still had not found the letter. Obviously because it wasn't there anymore. After that week I gave up and accepted that it was gone.
After a month i got a letter from the UK. I was like what is this, and why would anyone in the UK send me a letter?! I opened it and started to read it. After the first lines I realised that it was from Lando. I panicked and called my friend who was the only one who knew about the letter that i had written. I called her up and said:" WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! i just got a letter from Lando, HAVE YOU SEND MY LETTER TO LANDO?!' She started to laugh so hard that she couldn't answer my questions. After a minute or two she was done with laughing and said that she indeed had sent my letter to him. I freaked out only more and was a little bit ashamed. I said:' I just don't want to read the letter. I am too ashamed right now.' She encouraged me to just read it and don't care too much. So i tried to find the courage to read it. So I started reading from the beginning...
Hey, it's Lando here. Thank you for your really adorable letter. I really enjoyed reading it. It made me smile. How you've written it, it is brilliantly done. Thank you for all those compliments, it made me blush, and indeed some of my actions are not the smartest. I would love to learn some more dutch words and would like to meet you someday. You look like a really great girl. I hope you are doing fine and this letter doesn't scare you off.
As I said, I would love to meet you someday. Maybe we can go golfing together or do something else. Just what you want. I am not that good at writing a letter as you can see so maybe you can teach me some of your writing skills. I would also love to hear you sing and play the piano or guitar someday. OMG did he actually give his number to me. What am I supposed to do right now? Should I text him or shouldn't i. Maybe it's not his number and is he just pranking me. That was what was going through my mind at that moment. I didn't do anything with it for a couple days. I just needed the time to realise what happened. After that I decided to text the number and see what would happen.

It was really him, and I'm going to the UK tomorrow. That is the best thing that ever happened to me up until this moment. Lando also said that he would buy my ticket and he would pick me up at the airport. How sweet!
