STORYTIME (Lando Norris)

SURPRISE

The next morning I woke up and Lando wasn't next to me. I grabbed my phone and saw a text message from him saying I couldn't come downstairs until 10:00. It was 08:25 when I saw that message. Still more than 1,5 hour i had to spend upstairs. I grabbed my laptop and started writing a poem. I didn't know about what i should write, but after i put on some music i couldn't think about anything else than Lando. Obviously of course, who else could i think about. I started writing and as always, put my thought on paper...

GROWN

While writing I couldn't stop smiling. Thinking about him and how he already changed my life is so beautiful and it makes me so happy. Meanwhile it was already an hour later. I decided to come out of bed and make myself ready for whatever could be downstairs. When I was in the bathroom Lando came upstairs to tell me it was ready and I could come downstairs. That moment I became really nervous. He saw that I was a bit worried and comforted me with a hug and said:' Don't worry, it's a great surprise. You'll like it, for sure!' We walked downstairs, when i came through the door i saw the table full with lots of food. 'Did you make this all by yourself?!' i asked. He replied and said:' Not all by myself, thanks to your dad.' I was really confused and asked why he did that for me. He said that he thought I deserved it after a difficult time. I looked him right in the eyes and kissed him. 'You are the best, i love you.' He smiled brightly and together we ate breakfast. After breakfast he grabbed a little box from under the table. 'Not another surprise.' i said. He laughed and gave me the box. I opened the box and saw a little card in it. I grabbed it and read it. It said that I could go with him to the next 3 races of the triple header. I looked at him and said:' Wow, that's really amazing!' 'But what about my work?' He looked at me and smiled brighter than ever before.' I arranged that you don't have to work, so you can go with me and have some fun!' I was really shocked but also really happy. I had never been to a race so this was the best surprise ever. He told me that we would leave on monday so we would have until thursday to go sightseeing. The first week of the triple header was in Belgium, then we would come back to the Netherlands to go to Zandvoort and the last one was in Italy. I was really excited to go, but I was also a bit nervous. I didn't know what to expect and of course all the media that would be there frightened me a bit. Lando said that everything will be alright and that we would have fun, because that's the most important thing to do. I agreed and hugged him very tight. For me that was the moment that confirmed he was indeed the best thing that ever happened to me.
