My heart pounds at the same rhythm as the music as I step into a room full of dizzying lights and sweaty hormonal teenagers grinding on each other. I look around the room my eyes drifting in between the different couples making out and the people on counter tops dancing the night away. The high school party scene is just as you would expect, people drinking a weird mix of alcohol they call "jungle juice", half naked people dancing on each other, fights breaking out randomly and oh there's a drug dealer in that room. This place reeks of sweat and booze and I would rather be anywhere else but here on a Friday night.

My dream is to be curled up on my bed reading a book and sipping a cup of tea but unfortunately I have the honor of being friends with Cassie Miller.

Cassie Miller is what you would say is the cliche golden girl of our school. She is one of the prettiest girls at school, her long blonde hair shines like strands of liquid sunshine and she's got the most piercing blue eyes I have ever seen.

Cassie and I met during our 8th grade year during P.E class. Instead of running our usual laps we would sneak away into the locker room and do our makeup as we gossiped about all the guys in our class.

Soon after, we became best friends. We would sleepover at each other's houses almost everyday. Our families knew each other and we would often go to each other's family gatherings. Since I was an only child she was like the sibling I never had. And since she grew up in a family of only boys I was like the sister she never had.

In fact we were so much like sisters that we would fight like sisters too. I would have to put up with her bitchy attitude almost every day. We stole each others clothes and got into stupid fights. But at the end of my day she was my best friend.

Cassie had no trouble getting boyfriends. Actually it seemed like every month she had a new one. There was Robert, Allen, Jake and Tommy. It was a never ending list all thanks to her daddy issues, she just couldn't get enough of one guy.

That was until she met Braeden. He was a super hot super popular football player at our school. He was ranked number one in the whole state meaning he was a pretty big deal everywhere.

He was a typical jock. Funny, stupid and at times a huge jerk. In fact he was an asshole to almost everyone except Cassie. He constantly made fun of me and we bickered like little children. And yes, he was a "bad boy" which is what made him all the more appealing to Cassie. He rode a motorcycle to school, owned an expensive sports car, smoked cigarettes, you get the deal.

But he made Cassie happy and that was all that mattered to me. He could be the biggest asshole in the world but as long as he made my best friend happy I would have to hold off on my plans to murder him.

Since she was dating the most popular guy at school she would get invited to all sorts of crazy parties. And by extension she forced me to go with her. And I hated it. All the parties were a lame excuse to get drunk and have casual sex. Which is something I would never do. Well.. sort of.

Well anyways, back to the party. A guy name Chuck Smith was throwing this party after our Homecoming dance. Unfortunately Cassie and I rode on a party bus with Braeden and a bunch of his friends which was a nightmare on its own. I didn't know anyone except Cassie and our new friend Laney.

Laney was a super sweet girl we had met last year. She transferred to our school and was dating one of Braeden's football buddies, Mike Brown. So of course we all were destined to meet. She was a super pretty girl she was much more introverted and laid back. She had brown shoulder length hair and pretty hazel eyes.

She was really funny and kind and we had grown closer over that past few months. But recently, she broke up with her boyfriend Mike. Turns out he was cheating on her with a girl from our rival school. Not only did he lose such a pretty girl but he got booted from the football guy's inner circle for "fraternizing with the enemy". The guys all showed up this house and buzzed his hair in the middle of the night which was the first useful thing they have done in like forever.
