My Cousins Bestfriend

Chapter6 - Hope

'Jack, can we talk please?' I ask, he looks up from his phone 'please', he slips his phone into his pocket and gives me his undivided attention 'sure' his lips press together.

I take a seat opposite him on the patio outside his room, offer him a cigarette and begin 'look i know what happened wasnt ideal but i dont like not talking. Kelan misses his best friend to' i take a puff on my cigarette.

Continuing 'I know its not the best situation for you but i do really like him and he me. He has been so kind to me' he lets out a little smile 'look Syd I'm not mad that you guys are together or whatever I'm just mad that you both hid it from me' he expresses 'you are family and so is he as far as I'm concerned. I know you guys went to school together which means you have history but i just wish you told me'

He leans forward and places his hand on my knee and i place mine on his 'i know. We should have told you, I'm sorry, i just want things to go back to normal' i plea.

He stands up and opens his arms, i wrap my arms around him and he gives me a tight hug, pulling away i say 'i think you need to speak to kelan and sort things out' i smile up at him and he nods. Happy with the conversation i wander back to my room.

I enter the glass doors and kelan is sat on the bed with his phone in hand, my god he looks cute, i walk over to him and stand beside the bed 'i spoke to Jack...' i say, he looks up at me and smiles 'what did he say?' I sit on the edge of the bed and turn to face him 'he's fine now, he will probably come and speak to you at some point. He was mad we didn't tell him not that we was "dating"' i explain

He nods in understanding and places his hand on my cheek 'well that's good then' giving me a light kiss he pulls me in for a cuddle.

I open my eyes and look over to kelans side but he isn't there, where is he, rubbing my eyes to adjust to the bright light i sit up and lean on the back board.

I sit there for a minute while i wake up then swing my legs over the side of the bed and stretch, i stand up and stroll over to the open door and step outside grabbing my cigarettes form the table as i pass.

I place myself down on the plastic chair and light a cigarette, watching everyone around the pool. Suddenly kelan appears out of no where 'stand up and go inside' he demands i wave my cigarette at him 'I'll get you another packet, just do it please' so i throw my barely smoked fag on the ground and walk inside.

'Happy birthday princess' he says giving me a big kiss 'um, thank you' i say stunned as I've barely woken up. He tells me to wait here for two second and steps back out side, he pops his head back in and waves me over.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Is written on bits of card that everyone is holding up with him at the end with a bunch of flowers. My hands fly to my face and i nod my head.

He walks over to me and hands me the flowers, they are beautiful red and pink roses. He kisses my lips gently before pulling away and facing me 'thank you for theses' i whisper as i smell the flowers.

Everyone comes over and congratulates us before heading back to there rooms to get ready for the day. Kelan gives me a cigarette out of his packet 'here, for the one i made you throw' he laughs lightly before lighting it for me.

I can't believe what he had just done, i feel so special as it must of taken so much thought. I lean back in the chair and gaze at his perfect face as i puff away on my cigarette, enjoying every fucking minute of it.
