My best friend Vinnie and I sit at the dinner table at Sway Gaming, where we live. I'm watching TV and eating dinner while he makes TikToks. 

Mostly, my attention is on him. I've always had a crush on him, but I know he's way out of my league and I'm way to cowardly to share my feelings with him. I've just learned to deal with it. 

Suddenly, he props the camera up to me and tells me just to watch him and listen to the lyrics. 

He presses play... 

"I wanna ruin our friendship- we should be lovers instead"

We make eye contact as he pulls me in for a kiss. His hand cups my cheek as the kiss gets more intense. His hand slides down my back and our bodies begin to move in sync. It felt like everything around us just stopped.  

The TikTok sound ends and Vinnie makes eye contact with me again. "Y/N, I'm in love with you..." 

My eyes widen at his sharpness. "I-" 

I start before most of the boys run in, laughing. 

"YOU GOT PRANKED!" They yelled. 

"You really thought he liked you!" Troy yells. 

I stand stationary, on the brink of tears. I meet Vinnie's eyes and he avoids my gaze. "Um, excuse me I have to go finish something." I choke, excusing myself.

I run up the stairs to my room, holding my face in my hands as tears fall down fromy my eyes. I barge inside, slamming the door behind me. Turning around to my bed, I see Kio laying down comfortably. 

"What are you doing in here?" I cry. 

"What happened to you!" He asks. 

"I asked you a question first!" 

"Come here, tell me what's wrong." He guided me to the bed and cuddled me in his arms. 

I start mumbling through my sobs, unable to speak clearly. 

"It's okay, take a deep breath..." He helps calm me down. "Now, what happened that's gotten you all shook up." 

I explain to him what happened downstairs and he continued to show sympathy. Rubbing my back and kissing my forehead made me feel a lot better and understood. 

"I'm gonna beat their asses." He says through gritted teeth. 

"It's okay, I think I'm just gonna find a hotel or something to stay in for a few nights. I need to be by myself." I say. 

"You're okay with being alone?" He asks. 

"Yes, I need to be." 

"Do you want some help packing a bag or making reservations?" 

"Uh, no thank you. But thanks for all the help, I really appreciate you." I reassure. 

"No problem. I'll see you later, don't forget to call me, okay?" 

"I promise!" I force a smile. 

He exits the room and I immediately begin to plan my departure. I grab my laptop and book a hotel room for a couple of days. Then, I start packing. Not much, but essentials; I can always get anything I need from a local store or something. 

While I'm folding clothes and packing them into my suitcase bag, I hear a knock on the door. 

"Kio?" I ask. 

"Uhm, no, it's Vinnie." A voice answers from behind the door. 

I groan and roll my eyes, making the decision to ignore him. 

After a minute, he knock again. "Please, I need to talk to you." 

I ignore him again, but he knock another mother-fucking-gen. I get up from my spot on the floor and swing my door open. "What in the hell do you want?" 

"I understand that I-" 

"Nope. If you really understood that what you did was wrong then you wouldn't have done it in the first place. Do you really understand how embarrassing that was for me? No, and you never will because I would never put you in a situation like that!" 

"I know, that's why I came to apologize. It was stupid and I never should have done it."

"Oh please, you're just sorry because I'm upset. If I found it funny, we wouldn't be having this conversation." 

I slip on some shoes and grab my suitcase and everything I need as quickly as possible. I rush out of the door as Vinnie begins to cry.
