Chapter 10
Atheena's POV
"You really didn't need to escort them all the way down the hall and to the stairs." I sighed as Alpha Benjamin walked back in through the front door.
"Whatever, let's just finish eating. I'm exhausted." He huffed as he sat back in his chair at the dining table. I followed behind him and sat back in front of my food. I didn't waste any time going back to eating the delicious meal.
I was pretty exhausted myself. I was still curious about why he reacted that way to the kids kissing inside the "den", but I was far too tired and was not interested in starting another argument. So I decided I would just let it go for now. I just wanted to write to my family and then get some sleep.
Once we were done eating Benjamin took me to another room halfway down the hallway. He said it was his home office and that he only used it occasionally because he has another one downstairs which he uses for most of his business.
It had walls of shelves filled with books like a library. He also told me that they were mostly records of the Packs history, as well as more books about laws and such. He said they were pretty boring, but I thought they would be perfect for me to get more information about the pack. I was definitely going to spend more time here when I had the chance. Like I said, information is power!
The Alpha pulled out a few sheets of paper, showed me where he kept them, and then did the same with an envelope. He set them on his large wooden desk with some pencils, before turning to me with a small smile.
"I'm gonna go shower and get ready for bed. you take as long as you need and just put it in the envelope when you're done. I'll send it out in the morning. Alright?" He said very kindly, he was being very gentle with his tone. I gave him a quick nod as I headed to sit behind the desk. He then excused himself from the room and left me with my thoughts.
As I sat down I realized the chair was pretty huge compared to my small form. It also had armrests that seemed wider and cushioned more than they needed to be. They seemed strange, but pretty much everything does in this new world I've been pushed into.
His desk had more pictures of his family. I thought it strange I hadn't met any of them yet. But I hadn't met most of the pack yet. He also has a device which I recognized as a computer on his desk.
I wasn't sure what to say to Father, truth is I was still angry with him for sending me away. I missed him, but was angry at the same time. I honestly hated that part of him, the part that could just blindly follow whatever a god told him to do. I never understood it.
So for now I will start with a letter to Analee. I had a lot to say to her and I wasn't half as angry at her. I wanted to tell her about everything I had learned about the werewolf society and their culture. I wanted to tell her how strange they were and how Important their dens seemed to be to them.
I told her about my heat, but was careful not to go into too much detail in fear that Father or Fin would see what I had written. It was clearly for Analee's eyes only, but I had no way of ensuring that so I decided not to go into too much detail. I told her about Benjamin's temper and about the incident with the teenager's earlier.
I sat there writing for at least an hour before deciding that I needed to say something to my father. I was angry, but not enough not to write to him. I didn't have the heart to hurt him like that. I knew he still cared about me and must be worried about me... even if he doesn't show it.
So I decided to avoid the emotional parts and stick to the basics. I told him that the Bright Wind Pack lived at the summit of a mountain and that it was freezing, despite how early it was in the year. I told him that the meds had been distributed and that we were still waiting to see if they were able to help the sick pack members, but that I was confident it would.
