Chapter 4

Atheena's POV

After the ceremony my Father took Alpha Benjamin into his office, while the rest of us prepared to leave. Once I was done saying my goodbyes to everyone, I went to head back to my hut, to retrieve my things. Mark and one of the other wolf males helped me carry them to Alpha Benjamin's vehicle.

While I was in my hut, I took my hair down and took the flowers and leaves out of it. Usually we can only barely feel the leaves that grow on our skin. But after a while I think they get kind of itchy and annoying. I decided to stay in the ceremonial green dress. 1 because I am far to mentally exhausted to care and 2 because it was actually quite comfortable, believe it or not. A lot of the clothes we Fey women wear on the daily are far more uncomfortable than the basic, floor length, long sleeved, green dress that I wore now. I chose to stay barefoot, which is pretty common for the my village, even when walking in the dirt.

It's dark out now, but the clearing is lit up by torches all over. The wolves also turned on the lights to their vehicles. Men from both the village and the packs are working diligently to load and unload boxes for the trade.

I went over to the big white box vehicle that now has the back open. They're loading the last of the medicines and Potions into it. I soon started looking through the things that the village was receiving. There were many things that I had never seen before. For example, there's a couple of boxes of frozen fish. They were some type of salt water fish. I had only ever heard of those in books and even then it only mentioned they're medicinal purposes!

"Atheena!" I was shaken from my thoughts when someone called my name. I looked up to see Aslan jogging towards me, wearing traditional black pants with hunting shoes and no shirt.

Shit! He must have just got back from the hunt! Why does he have to show up now? He doesn't seem like he knows yet! I mean, I'm so glad I don't have to be married to him. But I certainly don't want to be the one to have to tell him that! How is he gonna react? The last thing I need is this drama!

"Atheena, My dear." He greeted happily, before giving a questioning look to the ceremonial gown I was wearing. "How did the treaty go? Surely they didn't make you wear your ceremonial greens for a simple treaty signing?"

"Um...well...I just...Alpha Benjamin.... " Before I could decide how to explain the situation he interrupted me, stopping my babbling!

"Not that I'm complaining! You look amazing in that dress." Aslan explained happily, while he reached out and grabbed my hand. I pulled away giving a nervous half-smile and tried to look busy, going back to looking at the crate of fish. He gave me another questioning look when he finally noticed my awkward state. "Is everything alright, beloved?"

This time he grabbed both my hands in his. He looked me in the eyes and waited for my reply. Just then there was a loud growl. It was loud and intimidating. It shook me to my core. Before either of us had time to react, I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist lifting me off the ground and my hands were ripped from Aslan's hands. Sparks radiating from every touch!

"Mine!" Alpha Benjamin growled out as he held me tight in his arms. Before I knew what was happening I was sitting on Alpha Benjamin's hip with my back to him. Soon the tall muscular young man from the ceremony was standing behind his Alpha once again. There was a moment of tense silence before anyone spoke.

"It would serve you well not to touch my mate!" Alpha Benjamin said a little calmer now, but not much. Aslan's shirtless body was strong and well built. But standing next to Alpha Benjamin, it was clear who would win that fight. Even under the suit that he wears, Alpha Benjamin is clearly the strongest. Definitely the most well built man I've ever seen!
