They walked several moons, played among the stars, and watched sunsets together. They felt nothing but pure content and serotonin just resting in the warm arms of each other. It had never occurred to them just how much time had passed since then, as now, they were nothing else but enemies.
Or, at least, they had to be. As the word spread around the kingdom about a betrayal and a fallen guard, things had escalated at an unreal and unfortunate pace.
The black-haired prince crouched, practically lifeless as he shakily made his way to the throne room. His remaining guards followed him in an attempt to keep him from receiving any more damage than he was already dealt with. But that reassurance of safety didn't last long as half of them proceeded to fall, getting shot and stealthily stabbed left and right.
"Sir, we mus-" The prince simply looked over with a reassuring look which concerned the guard who simply suggested for him to head to the doctor's. Nonetheless, he obeyed and continued to watch as the weakened male slowly made his way to his throne. It was for an unknown reason, that's for sure.
